As previously announced, a memorial stone in honour of CS Lewis will be unveiled at Westminster Abbey in London on 22 November 2013 to mark the 50th anniversary of his death. There will be a two-day conference in the abbey leading up to the ceremony. On Thursday 21 November, there will be two talks on the works of CS Lewis. Alister McGrath (Professor of Theology, Ministry and Education at Kings College, London and author of the biographical work C. S. Lewis – A Life to be published in March this year) will be speaking on Lewis’ apologetics and Malcolm Guite (chaplain of Girton College, Cambridge) will speak on Lewis’ fiction and poetry. This will be followed by a choral evensong service and a panel discussion chaired by Doctor Michael Ward (author of Planet Narnia and The Narnia Code). Other panellists are Michael Ramsden, Dr Jeanette Sears, Peter S Williams, and Dr Judith Wolfe.

On Friday 22 November, there will be a thanksgiving service with a sermon by a distinguished preacher followed by the unveiling and dedication of the memorial stone.

Attendance to the conference is free, but you must register to attend. Information on how to register and when registration will open, as well as how you can contribute to the fundraising initiative can be found here: Lewis in Poet’s Corner (http://www.lewisinpoetscorner.com/conference.php)
