Who doesn’t love a llama? Llamas are a strange part of the history of The Lion’s Call. Back in the day, when a member told me that the sidebar on the site was too plain, I added a llama for visual interest. It stayed up for weeks (months?). Last year, Tenethia engaged in a campaign to procure a llama for the chatroom, which was repeatedly shot down despite the presence of a gryphon, a sphinx, mome raths, and a pair of trampoline-jumping elephants.

Besides, “llama” is just a fun word to say. It is like “flan”. “Fla-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-n.” “Lla-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ama.” Now you try!

Every good llama needs a tinfoil hat of course. It keeps the other llamas from reading your mind. TLCers have long known the benefits of wearing tinfoil hats to prevent brainsharing, our natural tendency to think and say exactly the same thing at exactly the same time (Also known as the G.M.T.A. Phenomenon: Great Minds Think Alike. See Humphries’ Big Book of Stuff for additional information.). Swan White has been our resident tinfoil hat haberdasher for many years now (To order, see Swan White’s Catalog of the Shiny, Foldable and Eclectic)

And, once you combine tinfoil hats with llamas, you realize that, really, they are a lot like unicorns.

Of course, this is TLC, and not all our unicorns are budget. Head on over to our forum to discover the Silent Unicorn (or just an icon designer with a strange sense of humor).

Happy April 1st! Long live the quadrupeds!
