As many of you know, yesterday, November 22, marked the passing of C.S. Lewis in 1963. Several of us probably remember this date, as it was also the day that marked the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in the United States, which somewhat obscured Lewis’ death. Belfast, however, commemorated Lewis and the day of his death yesterday.
As many of you may have been aware of, Belfast has been developing a public square in honor of the Author who was born there in Northern Ireland. The Square’s grand opening, featuring a revealing of a new statue of Aslan, happened yesterday. I do not know about the rest of you Narnia fans, but if I ever have the opportunity to set foot in Belfast, this location will certainly be on my list of “must-sees.”
