Plus, I think they would be forced to age Jill and Eustace up, which I'm sure we don't want either.

But I guess to a point. there's still a chance that someone will actually stick to the story. It would actually be nice if they did. Now if they have to make some changes to make it work for a movie, I understand that. There are some things in the book that probably wouldn't work for a movie.

I would also say that I don't want a line similar to the one in SC: "Oh those Southern princes or Tarkaans or rulers or whatever have always meant for the same thing, but in every age, they have their own way of getting it." It would sound too cheesy and too obvious.

One thing that they better not mess with is Emeth meeting with Aslan. I like to feel the fear and awe that Emeth feels when he meets Aslan face to face.

In the book, there's a moment where Tirian calls Jill "sweetheart", but I think he was doing it in a friendly and protective manner. I don't think it should be misinterpret as a romantic subplot.

I don't want any shipping in Narnia movies, of course. But I am kind of worried about that a movie might end up shipping Tirian and Jill. If they did that, it would be the Caspian and Susan from Walden's PC all over again.

Honestly, I don't know which I'm more worried about: a Tirian and Jill romance or a love triangle with Tirian, Eustace, and Jill.

Caspian X is not the only Telmarine listed; Lord Drinian and Lord Bern are also listed. So I wouldn't see why Aravis and Emeth would be the only Calormenes there.

It could also show that not all Calormenes liked living under Calormene society or under the Tisroc's rule in HHB or even under Rishda's rule in LB (I know he's not the Tisroc, but I think he was in the process of making himself ruler of Narnia).

It would certainly be a big surprise for the audiences that there are some other Calormenes in Aslan Country.

I was working on some Narnian papercrafts today and I so love to draw from Weta's designs when making crafts, bookmarks and such.

Props: Tumnus' housekey, the design of the gifts and all the thought that went into them (The prophecy on Rhindon, the roaring lion on Susan's horn, the firebird bringing back a berry on the cordial, implying Ramandu's berries are the source of the juice, which makes total sense and I'd never thought of). You can see how much care went into every design. Are they all 100% book accurate? No. The cordial doesn't particularly look like it's made of diamond, I think Tumnus' flute is slightly different than described. Do they work? Absolutely.

Sets: Tumnus' Arts and Craft/Art Nouveau doorway is just stunning. And Aslan's camp, though they deviate from the single pavilion described in the book, has got to be the most beautiful war camp in the history of cinema (Eat your hearts out Elrond and Theoden.)

The Costumes: I adore the pre-raphaelite look that Isis Mussenden captured so masterfully. Narnia looks like a Waterhouse painting has come to life, and I am in love. This was everything the Golden Age needed to be.

Combining all of these, Narnia is vibrant, alive, full of rich jewel tones, exactly what it should be. Middle Earth is an Alan Lee painting. Narnia is a Christian Birmingham. And they captured that beautifully.

The animated film of LWW that came out in 1979 also replaced the voice actors for Mr. Beaver, Jadis and a couple of other characters when it was finally released in the UK.

I know some folks don't like the film, yet it's one of my all time favourites due to the extremely reverent way Aslan's resurrection was handled. The music, the prance of Aslan across the meadows where each touch of his paws caused flowers to burst into bloom...no words!

Oh, I remember thinking the flowers springing up where he stepped was canon, this was so ingrained in my brain. It's reminiscent of the character of Olwen of the White footsteps from Norse mythology and falls into one of my rare "better than the book" moments. I suspect Lewis would have approved.

This was my first visit to Narnia and I still adore it. Does the animation hold up? Not great. Does the script and voice acting? Yes. (In fact the missing "YES, IT IS MORE MAGIC" in the Walden films just about devastated me. It's so powerful in the cartoon. I'm fairly sure the voice of God in my childhood brain was either the actor of Aslan or Superbook XD )

Interestingly, Bill Melendez of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" fame also directed this movie. Charlie Brown's classic look has aged a little better.

I did a podcast with Glumpuddle over on NarniaWeb about this film and we came away with a quite positive review in the end.

"The World Ash Tree"? What on Earth? (As you can see, I've not read the American edition. I knew about Fenris Ulf and Dark Island, but the World Ash Tree is brand new information to me.)

Ha, glad I could make you guys laugh. :)
When the new Companion to Narnia came out with its Narnian cosmology illustration showing Narnia, if I recall correctly, in orbit around their sun, I remember going. "Pretty sure it can't look like that. They've got a World Ash Tree." Which raises the question: Is that fact still canon, even though the American versions are out of print? They were Lewis' own words and he wrote them /later/ than the British ones.

LWW-
Transition- Transition from Earth to Narnia is very hard to do in movies. I think they got the through the wardrobe right. It's pretty simple, just stepping into a wardrobe, then at the end, it's Narnia.

Edmund in the dungeon- While it's not in the book, I think it was fitting for the plot. It made him realize what he had done. In the book, he knew deep down that he was making a bad choice by going to the White Witch's castle.

Aslan's Death- They didn't show the White Witch driving the stone knife into Aslan, so they got that right. In the book, all it says as it happened, the girls hid their eyes, not wanting to watch. They got the binding, shaving the mane, and stone knife right. They unfortunately had to cut out the muzzle.

PC-
Transition- Once again, one of the most impressive things in all three of the movies. In the book, it was pretty simple. The Pevensies felt something was pulling them, then at an instance, they're in Narnia. In the movie, they elobrated on it. They felt something pulling them, then it went all like the train station was disappearing and the train was going by.

Miraz manipulates Glozelle to lie- It tells you what kind of person Miraz is. Glozelle doesn't have a big role in the book, but the movie kind of gave him a character arc. In both book and movie, Glozelle wasn't all that loyal to Miraz. That scene where Miraz asks Glozelle how many die in the woods, and manipulates him to lie about it.

Caspian confronts Miraz about his father's murder- It may sound a bit like Star Wars, "You killed my father?" The scene also reminded me of where Simba confronts Scar, and Scar says, "I killed Mufasa." I think the scene was really well done in Prince Caspian. We kind of got to see how murderous Miraz is. You feel the shock and horror.

The Duel- It was pretty intense, but I think it was my favorite part of the movie. It was really well done. I even like the masks that the Telmarines wore.

VDT-
Transition- It was creative to have water gushed out of the picture, and the room being flooded.

The Tension between Caspian and Edmund- While it's different than in the book, I thought it was well done. It even almost got physical.

End Credits- It was nice to see the illustrations of Pauline Baynes at the end credits.

How often is there a slow set-up for a character in movies? Some examples I could think of is the way Disney did for Shere Khan in The Jungle Book. They've mentioned his name, but actually don't show him until midway through. There's also Smaug in The Hobbit. We hear about him terrorizing the Lonely Mountains, but we actually don't see him until later. When you hear about Smaug, you have no idea what he's capable of. Even Jurassic Park had a set for the raptors. You hear about the raptors. It makes you go like, "Should I be scared?" Then there's the moment where a raptor makes a sudden appearance.

So Tash having a slow set-up in The Last Battle could be the same idea there. It's like what is he capable of. Oh, is he actually real?
