FOG, are you the same FOG who was a TLC member long ago? If so, it's great to see you!
Your name is so original and well thought out.

Re: This is the chat thread. Proceed to talk.
I recently discovered the original Thomas Tallis hymn tune on which Ralph Vaughan Williams based his sublime Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis. It's thrilling and haunting and jubilant, and very close to the Vaughan Williams arrangement. (Much more so than I had expected.) Here it is: (note: this...

I've seen a lot of pansies planted in local yards. They always remind me of cats' faces somehow. I passed one group of pansies that were all in neat rows, all facing in the same direction, and they looked like a flock of cats watching me pass by. Pansies are such lovely, rich colors: gold, deep midn...

Re: Frozen discussion thread *SPOILERS*

The basic premise was interesting, but I think the writers just left a lot of vacant spaces. I keep thinking about ...

Re: Names
It's great learning how people came up with their names. My name actually comes from two literary sources. When I was first choosing a screen name for FanFic and TLC (which I joined at roughly the same time), I paced around at home looking at things for inspiration, and I spotted a book by E.L. Koni...

Re: Christmas, Christmas time is here - December Chat
Everything I've heard about Frozen sounds wonderful, from the story to the music to the animation. I love that they're doing a sort of variation on The Snow Queen.

Re: What readest thou?
I love the Peter Wimsey mysteries! To my mind the best one is the one set at Oxford itself, Gaudy Night. But that shouldn't be the book one starts with. You need to get to know Wimsey and Harriet better first. The very earliest ones include Whose Body? and one splendid book set in the Fen Country th...

Those sound like great plans, Ajjie and Islie. Ajjie, I'm also very excited to hear the area of your thesis topic. I think you'll be able to make a unique contribution by using your linguistics knowledge.
I'll be with the family. I'm already behind on preparations, of course.
