Re: What have you been watching?

In defense of people laughing at serious moments in movies: Sometimes it's just a nervous reaction to something that's pretty horrible. Sometimes it's easier to laugh than to cry. .....Or maybe the line was just badly delivered in their opinion. I haven't seen it so I'm not sure that's the case, but...

Re: What have you been watching?

@Ariel- Yes, there is a live action FMA. It's on Netflix right now. I've watched about 20 minutes of it before deciding that it's so bad it's not something I want to watch by myself, but rather something I need to watch with a sibling so that we can laugh at how terrible it is. Though it does seem t...

Re: This is the Chat Thread. Proceed to Chat.

I'm working on converting a pair of black dress pants into a black dress skirt. It's pretty easy really, I just rip out the seams between the legs and add a panel of contrasting fabric (In this case a baroque canvas). I'm working on extending my "librarian" wardrobe for when I go to school...

Re: This is the Chat Thread. Proceed to Chat.

Hobbit, I've had about four years of voice lessons....you never stop learning how to breath. Get used to it. Voice lessons are basically breathing lessons :P But they really do help a lot, I even have a recording or two of my singing buried around if you want to PM me. Or if you just want to talk. W...

Officially 18 months, but I'll probably take the Summer off to work/volunteer/do an internship so 2 years. :)

I've told some others this already, but I'd like to let everyone know that...I got in! I'm going to school to be a librarian this fall!

Re: What have you been watching?

I love FMA: Brotherhood. Get ready to cry. A lot. Just finished up Victoria this week! Another great season :) And I also finished another anime that I know Ariel has watched (It involves Mech tanks, an alternate Britannia and me wondering if in all of their research of UK culture they ever looked u...

Re: How To Train Your Dragon! The official HTTYD, and anything there related thread

I read the first book and yeah....where is this complex storyline coming from? I thought that Dreamworks did well with just keeping the name and scrapping the plot.... And just to clarify I'm not sure that "inappropriate" quite covers what I thought of the first book I read...more like imm...

Re: What readest thou?

Congrats on making it through Mansfield Park, Ariel! It's the only Austen book that I've yet to manage to make it through, I just can't make myself care. :P However I did like the recent adaptation of it and it being about a 2-3 hour experience as opposed to a novel let me engage in it enough to kno...

Re: What have you been watching?

Ah, the Matrix, the movie that is an ode to the 90s. ....And honestly, I'm normally one who prioritizes plot over action and I normally don't like over the top action. ...The Matrix is the exception to this general preference. There's just something so mesmorizingly entertaining about the action sce...
