Hmm... I don't know about myself; I've just been thinking recently about the coats of arms I would give Narnian characters and my original characters, but it didn't occur to me to think of my own!

Lily's comment reminded me that there was a theory floating around about one side of our family being descendants of a medieval noble family, but it turns out it was just a rumour. But now I looked them up, anyway; their coat of arms was a yellow (gold?) field with two crossed... things. When you cut off the branches from a tree, leaving stumps, and then use that as a ladder. Because that's a thing in Czech heraldry. I rather like the yellow (although I otherwise like blue & white), but I think I'd drop the tree-ladders, especially seeing as I actually can't claim that coat of arms!

Blue, white and yellow something? I like that combination. I'll have to figure something out. I'd like a marmot, on principle, but I think it would not work very well as a heraldic charge...

Blue, white, and yellow sound good! As for the marmot, well, not every country has a particularly "heraldic charge", so you're really not bad off (such as a few on this list (this site is not affiliated with TLC; click at your own risk): http://www.hexapolis.com/2014/09/19/10- ... und-world/).

I was thinking more in terms of "What's that? A beaver?" Especially in a Narnian context that's what people would probably jump to!
I've found out that there is a Ukrainian town/city with a marmot in its coat of arms. But that's the only instance I've found, and the poor marmot doesn't look too comfortable in that context.

That link is funny, because I wouldn't consider half of them that odd... the beaver is quite obvious for Canada. Although that may be, for me, because the species/subspecies is specifically called "Canadian beaver" in Czech! :D

Oh, haha, yeah, that would be a problem. :D

Most of them aren't so weird, but (no offense to Reep), I definitely would not choose a mouse to be a national animal. ;)

Okay, exception for Reep and his bivouac. :)

I like Hobbit's coat of Arms. Especially the Lion and Crown. For myself I would probably want a Dove (for Peace) and a lilly (it just can't be orange.) Probably with the colors gold and purple. Maybe I will try and make one for myself.

You mean you don't like orange lilies, or you like them and regret it's not a heraldic colour?
They're daylilies. I like them, but I can imagine the implications for a coat of arms would not be the best...

O, wow. I need to make mine and draw it. I would love to have a Lord of the Rings/Narnian inspired one.
