What If Narnia Books Were Each A Musical
As a musical fanatic, I had the thought, "What if Narnia Books Were Each a Musical?"
I could see a montage of "To Narnia and the North" in The Horse And His Boy.
I could also see Caspian singing a song about longing for the old days in Prince Caspian.
Any ideas on what could be a good musical number for Narnia stories?

Not that it would be included, for several reasons, but I think “Baba Yetu” would make for an epic creation song.

...I dearly want a chorus of soprano stars coming awake in Creation.
And I could go for a Jadis villain-song explaining Charn.

I haven't thought of that one. It sounds like a good one, too.Lily of Archenland wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 3:43 am...I dearly want a chorus of soprano stars coming awake in Creation.

So for the stars, do we just show projected lights on the stage, or do we take it farther and show people in glimmering costumes hanging from silks and doing acrobatics as in the LOTR musical?

I haven't thought of that one. It's a thought, though. What if there were also tenor stars?

This is reminding me of when I started writing The Last Battle as a musical. That was like seven or eight years ago...I still remember snippets of a couple of the songs. The costumes were very stylized though, I remember that much.
If somebody has an idea for a Narnia comic that they weren't planning on making themselves, I <------ This offer still
would be so grateful if they would send it to me in a PM. I am running appallingly low on ideas...! <-- stands.

Nice! I thought of "Further Up and Further In" as a opening and closing song.hobbit_of_narnia wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 1:58 amThis is reminding me of when I started writing The Last Battle as a musical. I kind of envision that in Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Caspian and his men sing a version of "Do You Hear the People Sing" from Les Miserable as they head to the slave market at the Lone Islands to free Edmund, Lucy, Eustace, and Reepicheep as well as the rest of the slaves.
I also picture Rabadash singing Gaston's line in "Belle" from Beauty and the Beast (how when he woos Queen Susan and is like, "Hey, she's a beautiful queen and I'm a handsome prince. We're both attractive so we have to be married") in The Horse and His Boy.

...I would really like to see what original songs unique to the Narnia characters a musical writer could come up with. I understand songfic can be interesting, but part of the fun of musicals for me is meeting new songs.
