Inconsistency?

Re: Inconsistency?
An interesting question and some interesting thoughts have been offered here, so I decided to look up the qoute. (according to the Silver Chair on Google books) It says "To ride on a Centaur is, no doubt, a great honor (and except Jill and Eustace there is probably no one alive in the world who has had it." I think, that's not to say that it hasn't ever had it. Just at that time nobody is 'probably' likely to have had it at the time or for a while, at least that anybody remembers. I can't of a good real world example, but I think Lewis is telling the story as if the story teller was a Narnia who lived at that time. Hope that is is helpful.
