In the Morning: A Cat’s Tale
Blame my literature teacher for this short piece of silliness, not me.
In the Morning: A Cat’s Tale
The humans are stirring, I realize, as I stretch my paws and blink the sleep from my eyes, the orange sun just breaking over the horizon. A quiet meow escapes my mouth before I leap up onto the ledge where I can peer into the place where the humans live. My girl is watching the odd folding thing, her front paws pushing the little buttons. I try to scratch the clear object separating us, try to tell her how hungry I am, but she can’t hear me. She glances up and sees me, though, and lifts one of her paws as if to tell me hello. I cry louder, and she smiles before putting the folding thing down and rising, walking into the other room, the one that leads onto the place where she feeds us. I race to jump onto the other, higher ledge, the one my brother cannot reach, just in time to see her coming with the cup full of food in her paw. I bound to the ground and rub against her as she steps out. “Good morning, you silly cat!” she says, pouring the food into the bowls for Edmund and me. I purr my thanks as I begin to eat.

Your cat is a good writer! Did it take all that to get you to feed him?
Thank you, Hobbit!

Do you mean did it take that long for me to feed her? Yes.

I meant, did you make the cat write the story before you would feed it?
Thank you, Hobbit!

Nope, I didn't, as much as I would have liked to make Lucy do my lit homework.

It would be nice if I could make my dog do my math.......
That's cool that your cats are named Edmund and Lucy!!

nice, Jaygee
(slightly confused about the identity of the /folding thing/ though ) otherwise, nicely written I love the cat just wants food. Sounds like /my/ cat!

I think you just wrote what happens to me every day. Great job capturing the mind of a cat.

@Tenny: The "folding thing" is my laptop.
Speaking of my cats, I need to go put them outside (it was really cold last night)... *goes* *comes back* Y'know, they like being inside until I put them in the laundry room for the night... they really hate that.
