I've never tried to come up with a title for a story like this before, but you could call it, "A Wrong Turn in the Right Direction"...
Or something like that.

When it comes to spiders that size (not Shelob! nor Black Widow, nor tarantulas ...) I have some talent with getting them out of house and into open, gently.
Obviously, I feel worse for human persons hunted from place to place ... I am one (a k a homeless, bums, clochards ...)
@elanorelle, even so, I liked the short story of Lacey Weaver.
The first st longer one - has Emperor Taffari anything to do with Addis Abeba or Axoum by any chance?
