Rainstorm

Wind and water work
Upon a rain-rattle rooftop
Never aim to stop
In the moaning, branchy dark.
I can feel the thunder growling
Through my thin skin
And my fortress walls,
Where the ruddy glow falls
From an electric lantern spark.
Here, we are warm and dry
With a lid on our tamed lightning.
Outside, its cousins seem
Positively frightening.

tamed lighting I like that. I've got two more to write, but I think I'm gonna make it.

I'd have CONSIDERABLY more than two if I was going to make it, but I'll do what I can today and try not to sweat it if I don't wind up with the full compliment.

Old stories come around again
Time after time, in some new frame;
Faces and voices and places change,
The spirit fights to stay the same.
One may slip back or spring forward in time.
A day may shift from sun to rain,
But the quotes which rang deep in us are kept
Although everything else is new and strange.

...I can't see. There were four more poems after the first haiku. And they aren't showing up when I look at the main thread, but they are when I look at Full Editor and Preview. I really don't understand.
