Actually, I'm pretty sure he's in Minnesota. He works in the media department for a hospital up there, if my sources are correct.
Well, perhaps his cake-decorators were just inspired by the one in the UK! (I'm guessing the UK designer wouldn't ship cakes internationally. )

Meanwhile, I’ve been watching a fair bit of a baking show and casually thinking about how I might “fandomize” the challenges. One idea was Narnia-based.

Amazing Cleander . I always am surprised at Nabeel Qu'reshi saying the light of day seemed dark to me. (or something very close to that) while in the HHB everyone says the light of the sun seemed dark in my eyes.

Currently reading a historical fiction book set during the Third Crusade. Slaves to Saracen masters have uttered, "To hear is to obey." And a Saracen has said phrases like "hath not the poet said" a couple times, and uttered a couple proverbs that sound appropriate to Calormen. So naturally, that's where my mind went.
