Giant Wimbleweather: *steps up to the starting line and hops once, causing a tumultuous shaking that topples thirteen dwarfs and a nearby pavillion.* "Do I win?"

A Random Dufflepud-

"I wish I couldn't jump so high because then I wouldn't be so ugly."

Surprising all who are watching comes Doctor Cornelius. Surely he is not here to compete. Perhaps he has come into the field to correct a forgotten ancient custom regarding the high jump. But wait - there he is at the starting line! He's setting his feet in position! And he's running (at least, as much as one of his stature and girth and age can run). There is no way he can gather the speed, much less the height, required for this event. But what is this? He clears the bar by a wide margin! What have my old eyes missed?! Oh, sorry, my companions have just informed me that he used magic to hoist himself up. Is that even legal? I mean, I know the rules were "no wings or poles", but is this an allowable action? I guess the judges are conferring in their little corner there....

XD nice, Tooky

All look upon the mighty warhorse, Bree! He charges the pole and leaps, soaring over it effortlessly! What a horse!

The surprise candidate for this event is none other than Reepicheep representing the talking mice of Narnia. Reepicheep is the first mouse to ever qualify for the 10km swim. Many have doubted his ability to take part in his event saying that while they do not doubt the bravery of one who has proven himself so often in battle, they do not believe a mouse can keep going in the water for so long. In response to the critics Reepicheep has said that he has dreamed of taking part in an open ocean event ever since a dryad sang a prophesy to him of the sea when he was just a mouselet. He has also been quoted as saying that should his arms give out during the swim "I shall sink with my nose to the sunrise and Peepiceek will be head of the talking mice in Narnia."

Puddleglum with his powerful frog kicks led the pack in the breast stroke, and his arms were like a blur of propellers on the backstroke; and though he lost his hat on freestyle he never missed a beat and his turn-arounds were unbelievable with his long legs like giant springs. He definitely dominated the medley!

Ladies and Gentlemen, here comes our newest athlete to this event! He got involved in swimming only two years ago, when he leapt from a boat without knowing how to swim. This Telmarine Soldier has informed us he took a vow to learn when that happened, and ever since then he has been training relentlessly, preparing for today. Although he would do much better if he would not wear his armor, he is swimming with considerable skill!
