Re: Star Wars Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!)
Thanks Jaygee for the editing.
And featherfish surely you didn't dislike it that much. Sure there are portions of the film that they could have done without. The monster for example. (Is saying there is a monster in a Star Wars film a spoiler?) But overall the film fits into a war/spy/infiltration film. And the fact it happens in the Star Wars universe is great. Me leaving the theater was more like. WOW what I just saw was amazing. Of course we all have diffrent opinions and I don't know anunknownpevensie so I don't know what he or she wants to see. But if you enjoy Star Wars this isn't the worst film out there.

Re: Star Wars Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!)
SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS!!!
Is it the ending of seeing all the heroes dying? I don't see how they could have done otherwise. And at least they didn't die of a broken heart (looking at you Padmé). But you might also mean Vador ending scene. I thought it was well done but was glad I didn't bring a six year old to the cinema. Too much of this film wasn't for a six year old but that last scene defenitly wasn't. Then there is CGI Leia which needs work (and I think they could have simply shown her from behind without saying anything and we would have all been just fine). I really doubt you meant that scene I just put it there to show there are certain things I belive they could have done better.

Re: Star Wars Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!)
As I said I don't see how they could have done otherwise
SPOILERS
The mission was a sucide mission from the "begining" The only question in the head of everyone signing up was not, "Am I going to survive?" But, "Are we going to succeed?" And everyone watching the movie at that point had to know that they were going to die. That being said they did make it a little emotional.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least, though, when they did die, most of them had heroic, accomplishing-the-mission tasks (looking at you, Baze Malbus, as the exception...).

Re: Star Wars Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!)
SPOILERS
Agree with you Jaygee that most of them did die heroically................i had /no/ idea all the characters were going to die.[/quote] fetherfish Hummm shield that might let them in but defenitely not out. Outnumbered thousands to one. And you thought they might get out alive . Especially that they didn't expect it themselves. Rewatch (If it isn't too scaring) the scene where they sign up and see if anyone is expecting to come back. They seem to meticulously avoid the subject (Tipical of sucide missions.) I'm don't remember what music they were playing but a sad one would have fit the mood. (Except Jyn Erso is so happy to have volunteers who are willing to die along side of her for this mission) Lisen to Cassian Andor's speach when he signs on and tell me you don't feel that him and those with him don't expect to come back. This isn't retrospect this is foreshadow. Of course I often miss foreshadow but this time I got it.
