Driver's license is cool. (Not that my sixteen-year-old self would have said that. My parents forced me to drive, heh-heh....)

I wasn't too eager to drive either. I only ever got my permit, though I'm hoping to get my license when we're back on furlough. I haven't driven in well over a year, though...

Haha. Some part of it was fear for sure, but I also just didn't have an interest in driving, even though I knew I'd need it not too far down the line. And I might as well say that my fear wasn't so much about someone hurting me as it was about me hurting someone else. And there have been a few cases in which I very nearly did just that, both with pedestrians and with other vehicles, and for sure one of those would not have been my fault had an accident occurred.

Yeah, I get that. I had some fear after I started. Not when I started, much to the fear of my parents. :D But after a near mistake or three I started to develop a wariness to what I was doing I think. XD

I like looking out the window or reading while I'm in the car. Needless to say, you can't really do either when you're the one driving.

Ah same. I like trying to remember the roads I am on so I might know which way to return.

Thanks, Ariel :P

Driving is good, yes, there's a danger that you'll hit someone, but that's going to be the same really no matter how old you are when you start. As long as you're alert and paying attention you have done what you can to prevent that. (But I would advise to avoid high-traffic highways, etc. at first.)
It also helps people start treating you like an adult, rather than a teenager.

Congratulations to everyone learning to drive!
