Only dancing I do is aerobic/zumba.

@Feather: Some folk dances are really really fun. Like Whip the Willow. One of my favorites. You should try them sometime.

@Ariel: Never heard of those.

@Pev: Aerobic dancing and zumba are forms of exercise. I find it much more fun than running or doing squats or something.

Amazon just bought the rights to the Lord of the Rings extended canon.

I'm so excited. Even if it's never going to be as good as I expect it I eagerly await casting choices, finding out which storyline's they're doing first and drooling over costumes.

I might even have to start a "What's your dream cast" thread.

I'm glad that they're not remaking LotR.
I'm extremely glad HBO didn't land the rights.
I'm kind of excited, but I'm also wary. PJ himself messed up TH, so Amazon's gonna have to work hard to rebuild my trust. And they better not do any funny business while they're at it.

No one's 100% sure what it means yet. It could mean a Silm show, but it could also mean the adventures of little Aragorn and Legolas. TBH, I'd watch either one.

I'd almost be scared to watch a show about the Silm. I've got these pretty-firmly-established mental images of the characters, so unless they somehow got them to look like my versions of the characters I'd be watching the show like, ".....noooooooo...that's not Fingolfin" or whatever.
Of course I'll be interested to see what this turns into, though.

If it ends up being Silm based, I don't expect it to be perfectly faithful, and TBH I don't think I'd want it to be perfectly faithful since there's a lot of tweaking that would need to happen for it to flow smoothly as a coherent narrative. Like the timeline would have to be condensed and some characters would have to be fleshed out and choices would have to be made as to who is a primary and who is a secondary character.

And I know what you mean by the characters not looking how you want to be, but I just think of them as two different versions. I can still have my own pictures in my head.
