Signature and Avatar Guidelines

Signatures:

-A signature is the combination of graphics and text that appears at the end of a persons post. As they are very popular and can vary in size and content here are the rules for signatures on the forums

1. Images- We ask that you limit the images in your signature to two or three side by side, or one in banner form.

2. Size - In order to make posts easier to read, and to not have the banners take over, these are the maximum dimensions an image may be:
500 pixels wide (Maximum)
160 pixels tall (Maximum)
These sizes are approximate. If your signature does not quite fit within the sizes, just ask us, we can let you know. We can also recommend members who can resize them, if you are unable to do so yourself.
One of the biggest problems is, also, people "stacking" them on top of each other. We would prefer it if they are side by side but NO longer then 500 pixels.

3. Topic- Since this is a Narnian forum we encourage signatures and avatars to reflect that theme. This said, non-Narnian avatars or signatures (such as pertaining to your screen name, an original creative work, Scripture, music, art, or another fandom), if kept within the other guidelines, is okay, but we'd love to see everybody with a Narnian themed signature.

4. Content- No advertising of any kind. This includes causes, websites, politics, or any non-pre- Administration approved subjects.

5. Family Friendly- As always, keep it clean, and remember that we are a Christian site, where all ages are welcome.

6. Quotes/Verses/Sayings, etc- Please keep any quotes or verses or any other lines within your signature to two lines maximum stacked if with a graphic. If you choose not to have a graphic, please keep the maximum number of lines to five or six.

Avatars:

-An avatar is the picture that accompanies your screen name to the left of a post. Here are our avatar standards:

1. Avatar sizes can be NO BIGGER than 100x100 pixels.
2. Avatar topic and content guidelines are the same as for signatures.

- To set/change your signature‘s graphic, first log in and go to the "User Control Panel" at the top of the forum page. Select the profile tab and select "edit signature" and paste the IMG code for your signature into the box given. This is also where you enter in a text signature. Next, click the preview button, if you wish to see how your sig will look before you click submit, or just click submit, and your signature will be saved.

- An IMG code may be obtained by uploading the desired signature to a graphics/photo hosting site (we recommend tinypic). Once uploaded, you will be given several codes and links for sharing. You will want to copy the code with the [IMG ] [/IMG ] tags around it. You can also copy the direct link and add the afore mentioned tags yourself once pasted into the signature box, or, as a third option, click the little Img button, located above the signature box. This will automatically place the IMG tags into the box, and you just have to paste the direct link between them. Your signature code within the box should look something like this: [IMG ] link to your sig here [/IMG ] Only, it should not have any spaces within the code.

- To change your avatar, go to the "User Control Panel" and profile tab, as you do for signatures, but, this time, select "edit avatar". Here you will have the option to upload an avvy from your computer files, or to put in a link to one off site, or via the direct link (url). Remember, any avatar you wish to use must be no bigger than 100x100pxl. The system will not accept anything larger, so you may have to resize the photo/graphic you wish to use.

Avatar and signature rules are here to keep the forum from getting cluttered, taking too much space, and running slowly. Following these guidelines will help keep all happy, in the long run. Trust us. :)
