It's sure to get hotter down here, I shouldn't wonder, even if it is winter.

Jill is reading. (And I think I've found my favourite Jane Austen male character: Edmund Bertram. He's got his faults to be sure, but I quite like him. And the name helps some. ;) Especially when another character says this: "But there is nobleness in the name of Edmund. It is a name of heroism and renown -- of kings, princes, and knights; and seems to breathe the spirit of chivalry and warm affections.")

It doesn't matter if you forget that his name is Edmund. You can always pick up the book again and read it. (Lame, I know, sorry...)

@sardh: What's funny is that I'll probably have to do exactly that. I'll probably be talking about liking the character a month down the line and say, "Shoot, what's his name?!" and then have to look it up. (But then, maybe I shouldn't underestimate the power of his sharing a name with a Narnia character.)

Ooh, yes, Edmund Bertram is great. But I think Mr. Knightly is better. Have you read Emma yet?

@Jaygee: I ordered Emma and Northanger Abbey from the library today. Hopefully one or the other of them will show up before I finish Mansfield Park.

Jill grimaces at footage of herself singing.

Jill is impressed that it only took about a week for an online-ordered package to arrive in the mail

Northanger Abbey is...weird. But I love Emma. And I love Emma. ;) Not as much as I love P&P and Lizzie, but she's pretty great. :D
