I like to wonder whether the LoTGK was either biologically related to Jadis (unlikely, who would've been her consort? She WAS part-Giant in the first place, but that doesn't really seem... practical), or an apprentice of hers who she left as regent over her Northern conquest when she went South to make the Winter. I've also wondered whether the shapeshifting was something she had to study, or if she was naturally a shapeshifter - and just added glamours and persuasive magics onto her inborn abilities. Or what if she was even originally a Snake, and the Lady version of her was the morph? ;)
