Beginning credits?

Post by HermitoftheNorthernMarch » Fri Sep 29, 2017 6:30 pm

Do you think movies should have credits at the beginning or go straight to the action?

What should The Silver Chair do?

Let your opinion be known!

Personally I think some credits at the begining is a must if your name isn't Star Wars.

Well it seems the other films did this? I like some at the beginning.

Depends on the editing. And how the credits are presented. In LWW, the credits were put over a gentle montage you only had to pay attention to half the time. In PC, it was put over a simple chase scene. I don't recall seeing any opening credits during VDT, but it's been a little while. It would have been a little harder there because the opening scene was something you had to pay attention to; either the credits would have distracted from the scene or vice-versa.

Didn't they have a little bit of opening credits as Ed is trying to get into the army? I don't remember exactly...it's been a year since I watched VODT (I...can't believe it's been that long).

I know that there's a title card, but I don't believe they had any actual credits running (names of actors, principal crew members).

Yeah I think it just does a "The Chronicles of Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" thing at the beginning. However, Voyage of the Dawn Treader did a lot with their ending credits; they did illustrations from the books whereas the other two movies are just scrolling white text on black screens.

I loved the opening credits of some movies and I think I have been missing that in a lot of newer movies. I wish sometimes that they would do it at the beginning rather than the end because a lot of people miss the ending credits.
