Agreed tenfold! Lions are my favourite animals. ^-^ Did you know a genetic mutation can cause female lions to develop the male's characteristic mane?

Horses are second to lions for me. :P Yeah, it's a rare mutation, but it does happen. Apparently, the pride members aren't aware - going by smell, but members of other prides believe the female to be a male - giving an advantage to the pride with the maned female.
