@Ariel: Heheh...ummmmmm...as a matter of fact, it's because of the Silmarillion? The Russian branch of the fanbase is putting out a lot of the tolerably good fan content. I'd been noticing this for quite a number of months, getting frustrated by the fact that I couldn't read the fanfictions and the fanart and stuff, but then I accidentally stumbled across a couple of Silmarillion-inspired musicals on YouTube and realized that I really like the sound of the Russian language when it's sung. Also it can rhyme, which is something I've missed with Korean.
Yes, that's a stupid reason to learn a language, but believe it or not, I'm not the first English-speaker to learn Russian as a result of the Silmarillion. :P

@hobbit: considering there are people who learn fictional languages like Elvish... :P Really, that’s not such a terrible reason to learn another language.

@Ariel:  I...ah...I also fall into that trying-to-learn-Elvish category (so far I've sort of failed miserably; I guess I need to learn more real languages first). But this felt more like those fangirls who learn Korean for the K-pop boybands, only geekier.

@hobbit: haha, fair. I’ve thought about learning Elvish, but never seriously enough to even look into how to peruse it.

@Ariel: Haha! Well, to be honest, I'm having a hard time getting off the ground with Elvish, too, because in my opinion it's easier to learn a language when you start with the language's alphabet. But no one seems to agree on how Tengwar works, soooo...I'm doing my best, but it would be easier if I had an actual teacher or a consistent textbook.

@hobbit: I didn’t realize there was any dispute with how Tengwar works.

Jill waits for her friend to show up so we can see Infinity War.

Jill is going to require time to process Infinity War. And Jill may want a second viewing.

@Ariel: Yeah, I didn't either until I tried to learn it...
My youngest brother spoiled Infinity War for me a week ago. He did not waste any time with that.
