Jill got Beren and Luthien from the library yesterday. (Hey... my phone doesn’t recognize “Beren”, but autocorrects “Luthien” when I misspell it?! What’s up with that?)

@Ariel: Oooooh!! That's one I still have to read.
And LOL about the autocorrect thing. Before autocorrect updated, my Kindle would change "Feanorian" to "Fëanorian".

Jill is frustrated and not 100% sure why, which, in turn, is causing more frustration. This is so weird.

@hobbit: I could see that. But I almost never talk about Luthien. So... *eyes phone suspiciously*
Ugh, that’s no fun. :?

Beren and Luthien was good, but there was more poetry than I expected...Also, Sauron was called Thu throughout, so that was confusing.

@Jaygee (about Sauron being called Thu): Whoa, the guy might have more names than Gandalf!! But no, I totally understand the different-names-throwing-you-off thing. When I first read the "Lay of the Children of Húrin", I couldn't figure out who this Flinding character was and why he seemed to have replaced Gwindor...until I realized that he was Gwindor.I

Jill wonders vaguely how long it can take to replace a laptop motherboard before it's considered "too long".

Jill laughed at an exchange in Beren and Luthien (btw, phone now recognizes Beren, even though it doesn’t autocorrect).
(Major paraphrasing happening here.)
Beren: “King Thingol, I have in my hand that Silmaril you asked for.”
Thingol: “Whoa, really? Lemme see!”
Beren: “About that... a wolf ate said hand.”
