For Shi: a collection of Puddleglum quotes:

"Good morning, Guests. Though when I say good I don't mean it won't probably turn to rain or it might be snow, or fog, or thunder. You didn't get any sleep, I dare say."

"It stands to reason we're not likely to get very far on a journey to the north, not at this time of the year, with the winter coming on soon and all. And an early winter too, by the looks of things. But you mustn't let that make you down-hearted. Very likely, what with enemies, and mountains, and rivers to cross, and losing our way, and next to nothing to eat, and sore feet, we'll hardly notice the weather. And if we don't get far enough to do any good, we may get far enough not to get back in a hurry."

"They all say--I mean, the other wiggles all say--that I'm too flighty; don't take life seriously enough. If they've said it once, they've said it a thousand times. 'Puddleglum,' they've said, 'you're altogether too full of bobance and bounce and high spirits. You've got to learn that life isn't all fricasseed frogs and eel pie. You want something to sober you down a bit. We're only saying it for your own good, Puddleglum.' That's what they say."

"The bright side of it is, that if we break our necks getting down the cliff, then we're safe from being drowned in the river."

"Keep on. Move towards them. Anyone you meet in a place like this is as likely as not to be an enemy, but we mustn't let them think we're afraid."

"Steady, Pole. Those big fellows wouldn't be crawling in there if it didn't get wider later on. And there's one thing about this underground work, we shan't get any rain."

"Now, don't you let your spirits down, Pole. There's one thing you've got to remember. We're back on the right lines. We were to go under the Ruined City, and we are under it. We're following the instructions again."

"One word, Ma'am. One word. All you've been saying is quite right, I shouldn't wonder. I'm a chap who always liked to know the worst and then put the best face I can on it. So I won't deny any of what you said. But there's one thing more to be said, even so. Suppose we have only dreamed, or made up, all those things--trees and grass and sun and moon and stars and Aslan himself. Suppose we have. Then all I can say is that, in that case, the made-up things seem a good deal more important than the real ones. Suppose this black pit of a kingdom of yours is the only world. Well, it strikes me as a pretty poor one. And that's a funny thing, when you come to think of it. We're just babies making up a game, if you're right. But four babies playing a game can make a play-world which licks your real world hollow. That's why I'm going to stand by the play-world. I'm on Aslan's side even if there isn't any Aslan to lead it. I'm going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn't any Narnia. So, thanking you kindly for our supper, if these two gentlemen and the young lady are ready, we're leaving your court at once and setting out in the dark to spend our lives looking for the Overland. Not that our lives will be very long, I should think; but that's a small loss if the world's as dull a place as you say."

For Elanorelle, Bible verses having to do with horses:

2 Kings 6:15-17
15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Psalms 20:7
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

James 3:3-5
3 Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

To Always: I brought along a few visitors, who wish to present to you:

Drawing Tips from the Dawn of Time

Bulldog: First, decide what it is you would like to draw--is it animal, vegetable, or mineral?

Elephant: If it is an animal, take great care in drawing its nose. If it has something that could be called a Nose, of course.

Bulldog: I object to that remark very strongly.

Bear: Remember that animals don't just roll over, so draw them standing up.

Warthog: If you're drawing a sort of tree, its roots should be on the muddy end of it that spreads out more.

Jackdaw: Drawings with a joke in them are best.

Elephant: Hold the pencil properly. I think I might say (meaning no offence to anyone present) that, perhaps, for that sort of work, my kind of nose--

Bulldog: I object to that remark very strongly.

*thanks her visitors and hurriedly herds them out*
