Tom Hiddleston in a Middle Earth adaptation would be too amazing for me to handle
I wonder if they are going to be basing it on Tolkien's works, but taking liberty with their own plotline? I'm just not so sure since it's a mini series?

@always: I... don't think it's to be a mini-series. I saw something about this show being multi-season.

It's a little complicated. You can't just do a younger version of the characters we know, at least not if you're trying to integrate with the existing movies. Most of the elves don't get any younger, though you could do a young Aragorn growing up in Rivendell with Elrond and Lindir running after him I guess...
It doesn't seem like they've bought the Silm rights from anything I've read, though they could do any of the stuff in the Appendices, but that could make for a somewhat warped version of Beren and Luthien. I kinda wish we knew more about Earendil...

I would like to insert my two cents that I would totally watch a young Aragorn causing all kinds of havoc in Rivendell with Elrond and Lindir running after him.
They could make Elladan and Elrohir his babysitters that always drag him along to kill orcs because "After all, in human years 17 is old enough"

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

HEHEHEHEHHEHE reading this all makes me so happy cause of all the stuff that MIGHT happen and is great to imagine it would. XD
I agree on so many respects to each tho.
My thoughts on the whole thing are..... I HOPE it's the Silmarillion but if they mess it up they had better take it all back XD

@Tooky: *snork* I actually wouldn't mind seeing Aragorn hanging out with Eladan and Elrohir. The most we actually /see/ of them is in Born of Hope, and that's a fanfilm. That said, going that direction would require going down the right fanfiction rabbit holes in order to satisfy me.

I just hope they're not going to make it some cheesy, modern show like the BBC Robin Hood. I hope they keep true to the heart of Middle-Earth whatever the case.

I guess I'll just wait and see what happens. I mean..... what history does Amazon have in shows? I haven't heard anything. Is it all unpredictable?
