                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[We're due for our annual summer challenge, so here we are, ready to dig into the next step of our chronological journey through the Narnia series. <br><br>Beginning Aug 8, we'll read two chapters a day in <I>Prince Caspian</I>. Sunday the 14th will be a day to rest or catch up if you've fallen behind; Aug 16 will be the concluding day.<br><br>Closer to the beginning date, a staffer will open up a "sharing thread", where we can share our "reflections" on the chapters of the day. These can take many forms, such as simply pointing out something that stood out, writing a poem, sketching a scene -- whatever expresses your takeaway for the day! (A quick reminder that any links to webpages outside of TLC must be approved by a staffie prior to posting.)]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[As our regular members know, every year during the northern summer, we put aside a week during which we read and discuss or post reflections on the assigned reading for each day.<br><br>This year the Summer Challenge is upon us. It takes places starting tomorrow Mon 9 August 2021.<br><br>As we are currently working through the books in Chronological order, we'll be looking at The Horse in His Boy this year.<br><br>Anyone with an interest in Narnia is welcome to join in. We will be assigned roughly two chapters a day which participants can read in their own time (those with limited time are also welcome to listen to an audiobook or drama or other adaptation - though our intention is to focus on the book itself rather than other versions).<br><br>Each day, participants are encouraged to post a "reflection" on their reading in a dedicated thread on this forum.                         <content:encoded><![CDATA[Every summer, we here at TLC put aside a week and a half during which we read and discuss or post reflections on the assigned reading for each day.<br><br>This year the Summer Challenge will take place from Monday Aug 3 to Wednesday Aug 12 (leaving Sunday, August 9, as a day of rest or catching up).<br><br>Continuing our chronological trip through Narnia, this year's book is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.<br><br>Anyone with an interest in Narnia is welcome to join in.
