Hi all, today we start this year's Summer Challenge. As announced on our Home Page, we are reading together through "The Silver Chair" this year.

This is the thread for posting reflections each day after reading the two assigned chapters.

Summer Challenge 2022 - Prince Caspian

We're due for our annual summer challenge, so here we are, ready to dig into the next step of our chronological journey through the Narnia series.

Beginning Aug 8, we'll read two chapters a day in Prince Caspian. Sunday the 14th will be a day to rest or catch up if you've fallen behind; Aug 16 will be the concluding day.

Closer to the beginning date, a staffer will open up a "sharing thread", where we can share our "reflections" on the chapters of the day. These can take many forms, such as simply pointing out something that stood out, writing a poem, sketching a scene -- whatever expresses your takeaway for the day! (A quick reminder that any links to webpages outside of TLC must be approved by a staffie prior to posting.)

Summer Challenge 2021 HHB (About)

As our regular members know, every year during the northern summer, we put aside a week during which we read and discuss or post reflections on the assigned reading for each day.

This year the Summer Challenge is upon us. It takes places starting tomorrow Mon 9 August 2021.

As we are currently working through the books in Chronological order, we'll be looking at The Horse in His Boy this year.

Anyone with an interest in Narnia is welcome to join in. We will be assigned roughly two chapters a day which participants can read in their own time (those with limited time are also welcome to listen to an audiobook or drama or other adaptation - though our intention is to focus on the book itself rather than other versions).

Each day, participants are encouraged to post a "reflection" on their reading in a dedicated thread on this forum. This can take any form from simple prose comments on things that struck you to something more artistic (e.g. poetry, graphics/art, fan-fiction, an essay etc.) Whatever inspires you - feel free to share it on the sharing thread.

Summer Challenge 2020: LWW (About)

Every summer, we here at TLC put aside a week and a half during which we read and discuss or post reflections on the assigned reading for each day.

This year the Summer Challenge will take place from Monday Aug 3 to Wednesday Aug 12 (leaving Sunday, August 9, as a day of rest or catching up).

Continuing our chronological trip through Narnia, this year's book is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Anyone with an interest in Narnia is welcome to join in. On Mon 15 July, we will open this thread so you can share your reflections on the reading for each day.
