Unofficial Winter Challenge!
Starting tomorrow, a few of us are going to begin reading the Chronicles, and we plan to read them all through this coming week, one book a day. So far those who have accepted the challenge are Ariel, Narniac, Elanor, Swanwhite, and myself.
We aren't requiring reflections because of how scrunched the reading is going to be, but you're welcome to cast reflections in here as you read
So, is anyone up for an adventure?

I am so going to try this!! I might not make it the whole way through, but I'm so going to try! *rubs hands together eagerly*
Which order are we reading them in?
Which order are we reading them in?
If somebody has an idea for a Narnia comic that they weren't planning on making themselves, I <------ This offer still
would be so grateful if they would send it to me in a PM. I am running appallingly low on ideas...! <-- stands.

We're reading them in chronological order though I suppose if you wished to read them in another order, we wouldn't mind too terribly

I just made it to half-way....... I'm kind of a slow reader.
Thank you, Hobbit!
Re: Unofficial Winter Challenge!
Grand fun eh? Unfortunately my copy of Magician's Nephew was lent to someone by my Mother, and the nearest library didn't have it, but then I found the Focus on the Family audio dramas were here and decided that could count at least for today. So I've been listening to that and while riding the subway to church and ice skating I've read a head a bit on LWW. I love Digory and Polly's friendship, and I love laughing at Uncle Andrew. I love how simply Lucy takes things and how trusting she is and willing to believe the best of Mr. Tumnus and quick to forgive him. I also admire her honesty.

I'm a little over half-way through and while reading my interest was piqued at the hymn Frank decided to sing. I've never looked it up before but this time I did and I may have found it!
Come, Ye Thankful People, Come
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVIsS243854 (Youtube is not affiliated with TLC; click at your own risk, etc.)
Lyrics:
1. Come, ye thankful people, come,
raise the song of harvest home;
all is safely gathered in,
ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide
for our wants to be supplied;
come to God's own temple, come,
raise the song of harvest home.
2. All the world is God's own field,
fruit as praise to God we yield;
wheat and tares together sown
are to joy or sorrow grown;
first the blade and then the ear,
then the full corn shall appear;
Lord of harvest, grant that we
wholesome grain and pure may be.
3. For the Lord our God shall come,
and shall take the harvest home;
from the field shall in that day
all offenses purge away,
giving angels charge at last
in the fire the tares to cast;
but the fruitful ears to store
in the garner evermore.
4. Even so, Lord, quickly come,
bring thy final harvest home;
gather thou thy people in,
free from sorrow, free from sin,
there, forever purified,
in thy presence to abide;
come, with all thine angels, come,
raise the glorious harvest home.
Interesting that this song would be chosen. Foreshadowing for LB, perhaps? Hmm...

Awesome Elanor! Thanks for sharing that. I have often wondered about the hymn the Cabby sang.
