@ Ariel and Ela: And here I see you all doing so well in my worst area (namely, normal human proportions). Both of you guys...your artwork is so amazing!

@ Hans: Thank you! :) Gollum was very tricky, since Gollum has huge eyes (and hedgehogs don't at all) and Gollum is nearly hairless. The only way I could think of to make that come across on a hedgehog was to remove most of the spines. :P

@Ariel: Hey, that's great! I like the shading.
@Hobbit: Thank you - that is certainly not something I'd think to read. :P In all honesty, I can only draw like that on a computer: my fingers aren't deft enough for proportions like that in my sketch work.

@hobbit: Well... cartoon Cap isn't proportionally accurate to begin with, heh-heh. I mean, look at that chin! :P And his chest and shoulders are insanely wide, but since I didn't do his legs, it doesn't look /so/ bad. But thank you. :)
@elanor: thank the animators for the shading. ;)

Well, Ariel, Cap's proportions are better than those of the characters in my drawings. There's a reason I draw more animals than I do people.

@hobbit: haha, oh dear. But I feel you. Proportions are definitely a weak point with me too. (Remember that this sketch is a copy of a screenshot. :) )

Most of the stuff I've been drawing lately has been a little too large for instant posting around here. But here's a roundup of some bits.

Image
Inspired by the first few chapters of George MacDonald's Lilith.

Image
Erm... Not naming my source on this one because some of its content doesn't meet guidelines, but basically, she's from a low-budget urban fantasy drama. Pretty girl, anyway! ;)

Image
...I don't know if I can talk about his source or not? :p In any case, it doesn't look a whole lot like the intended character but it was a fun experiment in blue/yellow watercolor sketching! :)

Image
Image
Cameos from the corners of a larger project I'm working on - a tribute to Graceling by Kristin Cashore, drawn for a friend.
(Disclaimer - while content is not explicit it is apparent that a main character engages in a sexual relationship outside of marriage, main character was trained as an assassin, and there
are a couple of people in authority of dubious character who are fond of enforcing their will violently. Read at your own discretion.)
