And because I say I'll write a story and then never get around to it here are some highlights in case I never get around to a full write up-
Westminster Abbey was the peak. It's a gorgeous sacred space and getting to see the tombs of several people that I greatly admired was so inspiring. I didn't find the Tolkien or Lewis monuments there, but I feel good knowing that they are there. It also drove home just how so much of the stuff I saw in the UK was older than America's entire history.
Didn't go into the House of Parliment but it looks like a castle standing next to it. Pretty awesome.
I loved using public transportation. I was nervous at first, but I got the hang of it on the first day and for a large city it really makes a ton of sense. The fact that I actually enjoyed using public transport has me seriously considering looking for jobs there.
Stonehedge wasn't disappointing like I expected it to be. I think it's partly because the weather was perfect when we went and it just contrasted the country side absolutely beautifully.
