A painting of Mr. Tumnus and Lucy has recently been listed on eBay. According to the seller, this is an original painting by legendary aritist John Alvin, which once belonged to James McAvoy.
Alvin’s career has spanned decades and work on over 200 movies. He’s created posters for such iconic films as ET, Hook, The Goonies, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Princess Bride, Willow, and Young Frankenstein. Much of his work has a distinctive “glow” to the art that can be found in the image of Mr. Tumnus. Mr. Alvin passed away in 2008.
The painting (or possibly drawing) is listed as a Buy it Now at $3,990.

Wow. Makes me wonder why James McAvoy parted with it.
Perhaps he didn’t think it was a good likeness… XD
I know he was very fond of playing Mr. Tumnus, so I was surprised too. It’s one of the reasons I recommend any buyer double-check the listing details.
James McAvoy donated this original John Alvin to a Paris Charity event where the eBay Seller purchased it many years prior. The Original is now located in the United States.
Yes the one on eBay was original and came with a picture of James McAvoy holding the framed original. My understanding is Mr. McAvoy donated the John Alvin for a Charity event where it was purchased. I own it now in the United States. It does have a wonderful “Glow” to it.
