It is with great sadness that we have received news of the death of Walter Hooper today (7 December 2020). Mr Hooper died after a period of declining health at age 89. He served as CS Lewis’ private secretary in 1963 and later became a literary advisor of his estate. We honour the way this man kept Lewis’ legacy alive and are grateful for the many works he edited and had published after Lewis’ death. Mr Hooper was a humble man committed to preserving the memory of Lewis and his loss will be felt by many. We send condolences to his family and friends. May you find comfort in this time of grief.
