😮 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, that is some nice, detailed work. I especially like the way the horn looks.
*whistles* Amazing!
Ooh! I'm muchly impressed.
Thanks, guys! 😀
It took some time, but the results were fun.
I still can't sew worth a wink, but I've been getting better at wearable props to go with other folks' sewing... Guess there's enough overlap with sculpting and painting to give me a little bit of a boost?
Well, I'd be proud to wear those pieces.
Thanks, Ariel. ^_^
Been daydreaming about doing another draft on the Dryad concept... plan more time for building a usable mask, costume jewelry, and tree-bits and use more of an autumn color scheme on the accessories and a leftover charcoal grey wraparound bridesmaid's-dress for the base/"trunk". Have started collecting supplies, need to run concept sketches before I start piecing it together in earnest. I might like to put progress shots here as I go...
With grey trunk, I'd go for a beech theme, myself. 😉 (And thinking of the mention of "beech ladies" or some such in Prince Caspian - sorry, going off my memory of the translation here.)
@Lily: We'd love to see!
So this all started in Walmart, as all great stories do. I found a rack of superhero t-shirts with capes on the back of them and had to get one. I found a Robin one, and after I stopped screaming, I bought it. Fast-forward a few days and I have completed what I like to refer to as a Budget Robin Costume, meaning all items were purchased at Wal-Mart and it's meant to be funny, not accurate.
^^front view
^^from behind (not sure why it's sideways...)
I also made a mask, which you can't see in the front view picture, so I took a separate picture of it.
yeah, i literally just taped some cardstock diamonds to my glasses.
Well, you guys just got your week's worth of irony and sarcasm and stuff. ciao.
*grins* Hey, at least the domino mask works with the glasses. I have to figure out how to make a Captain America helmet that will accomadate mine. 😛
Those shirts are kinda cool, though. I've seen a couple, though never at Walmart....
Nice, Featherfish! 🙂 I want to see that sometime when we're back in the States on furlough.
I've been thinking of making a low-budget Superman/Captain America crossover costume but haven't done it yet, mainly because I don't know where to get the things I need for it yet. You know, new continent and all that.
