Chess, we're just congregating here as we get ready for our first book together! 🙂

Lily, did you mean what books are going to be coming up? Right now we have some ideas, but haven't decided on anything for sure. I've heard some rumors about some other CS Lewis works, some Tolkien, as well as several fantasy books.

If you have any recommendations at all, I would love to hear them! And the same goes for everyone else!

OOOHHHH. This might be fun. What gets up in here? I understand.... We go through books and gather here periodically to talk about the book, am I right? And..... The first will be The Hobbit?

Say, Can I order an Extra strong Black Tea, no sweetener?

May I suggest Out of the Silent Planet for the future? (or the Space Trilogy in general)

*hands rolls around to the willing*

Hrm...
Suggestions, eh?

-The Singer Trilogy by Calvin Miller is cool and under-appreciated, although maybe a little tough to get your hands on. Kinda semi-poetic allegory.
-At the Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald
-Wingfeather?

Or, if nonChristian books are also on the table -
-Hope Was Here by Joan Bauer - well written, generally clean, YA slice-of-life fiction with a female protagonist. (I think I'm allowed to post links with disclaimer at this rank without asking first, as long as they're my own material? Have my review on Squeaky Clean- http://www.squeakycleanreviews.com/review.cfm?review_id=764 )
-Icefall by Matthew J. Kirby - historical fiction Viking whodunit ( http://www.squeakycleanreviews.com/review.cfm?review_id=3089 )
-Jackaroo by Cynthia Voigt - tentative rec, would need to go back to be sure of the content rating, but I remember it was well-written, if somewhat grim at times, and involved Robin-Hood-like folklore.

Now this is starting on March 1, right? And we'll be going through 5 chapters a week.

Good! Hey, is this where I order?

Can you tell me about Wingfeather Saga?
I am starving for more to read, and I have not heard of Wingfeather Saga until I heard of it from you guys.

Yeah, it was never really supposed to remain active once the booksclub itself actually started. It's really just for spitballing books you'd like to read in the future now.
