😛
I thought he was Loki. 😆
Oh my word, now that you point it out...! 😆
I like how the blue mountains can be seen in the distance from Hobbiton. Did you make it from acrylic or oil?
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well." - John 14:6-7a
Even though I did this for the LWW scavenger hunt bonus ( https://www.thelionscall.com/badgers-burrow/lww-scavenger-hunt/ ), the design is more consistent with LotR elves than a Narnian daughter of Eve, so this is where it's going. 🙂 This tiara reflects a few of my favourites: drop-down gem (emerald, specifically), silver, vines, and stars. (I did draw more of the tiara, but cut it shorter so it'd make for a good picture here. Pencil on paper, coloured in Photoshop.)
Finally finished my VeggieTales Newsies! I've already shared two versions of the main cast, but those seven will reappear here in new groups. (These are mainly based on the Broadway version, not the 1990 film; an exception is made for the character Kid Blink because the actual leader of the Newsboys' Strike was named Kid Blink, and I wanted to include him, even if he was demoted as leader in the film and non-existent on Broadway.) And yes, there's a little genderbending, but there were some girls among the newsies too!
Annie as Specs, Tom as Race, Eloise as Les, Percy as Albert, Alexander as Davey, Larry as Jack, Junior as Crutchie, Lil Pea as Elmer, Laura as Buttons, Blind Lemon as Kid Blink, Lenny as Finch
Archibald as Sietz, Pa Grape as Bunsen, Lovey as Hannah, Mr Nezzer as Pulitzer, Jimmy as Oscar, Mr Lunt as Wiesel, Jerry as Morris
Oscar as Mr Jacobi, Figaro as Nunzio, Petunia as Katherine, Art Bigotti as Bill, Ryan as Darcy, and Mary Mueller as the lady passerby
Bob as the mayor, the king as Roosevelt, Robert as Snyder, Scooter and the Scallions as policemen
Miss Achmetha and Esther as the Bowery Beauties; Madame Blueberra as Medda; Mom Asparagus, Ma Grape, and Grandma Gourd as nuns
Jean-Claude, Philippe, and Christophe as Woodside newsies; Gourdon and the Zucchini brothers as Brooklyn newsies
Sara, Dirk, and Aaron as Flushing newsies; Lucy, Jacob, and Geroge Jr as Richmond newsies
Shux as Bronx newsies; the Beet and the Peach as scabs
@Hermit: I used acrylic. For landscapes oils are more flexible but I generally prefer acrylics and those were all I had available that day anyway.
@Ariel: That tiara!! 😮 Amazing!
And the VeggieTales Newsies are hilarious.
Also I painted this (also in acrylics) because I don't really have any posters to hang up in my room but I wanted more fandom things on the walls:
@hobbit: Thanks—
*falls against the wall in surprise* You done did painted WHAT?!?! That’s amazing!!
Awww thanks, Ariel! I'm hoping to do more paintings but haven't had the stable schedule to do so for a while.
Keep it up as you are able, haha. You’re very talented.
There's an artist I found who headcanons Frodo as a blonde (because of the Fallohide genetics), and when I saw the art they'd done, I was like "..........hold my ent-draught" and stayed up until like 5 in the morning to make this.
Long story short, I now have two drastically different mental images for Frodo. Should make reading the book next time a trip.
But wasn’t Elenorellë the first blonde hobbit in a crazy-long time?
Anyway, the art itself has a real nice dynamic. The flash of bright blue makes Frodo stand out and it breaks up the more somber colours everywhere else, and his pose is that of readiness.
All we are told is that gold-blonde hair had been very rare up until that point, except for the year she was born. So it's possible but unlikely that any of the main four hobbits would have had it. I admit I was originally planning on giving him more of a dirty blonde than this bright gold, but the temptation was too much to resist. 😉
