I suppose I'll start the thread of Narnian poems! Here is one I wrote:
(I'm not sure what we're supposed to do as far as permission for poems or writings, just PM me if you're going to post this or anything, and give credit to always narnian. Thanks!)
Midsummer’s Dance
When twilight set within the glade,
And hooves were heard and greetings bade-
When fires were lit upon the ground,
And music filled the air around-
When dryads danced in pale moonlight,
And fauns were seen all through the night;
Then laughter mingled with the song,
And no one knew it’d be this long-
For winter’s reigned a hundred years,
And brought us all too many tears.
And now I wonder if we’ll behold,
Those nights again that were not cold-
Those happy weeks when we would prance,
And everyone joined in Midsummer’s Dance.
Wow. That's awesome. Just... wow.
O! Why thank you, Tenethia! Very kind! 😀
I don't like much poetry, but this one I do!
Thanks Teneb, that's a big compliment!
I'm amazed by the poetic ability by many of the people on this site. As someone who works a lot with words and language (but isn't so good at producing it) I admire people who really do have a gift for turning words. I also like the slightly archaic style many of you use, as you have done here (and I have seen Silkdash and Lily of Archenland do too). It adds a beautiful aspect and quality to the poem and is reminiscent of Tolkien (who is one of my favourite poets). Good job.

Thank you all so much! 😀 I am not a BIG poet writer, I write fiction more, but I do enjoy writing a poem every once and a while when it comes to me!

It's beautiful 🙂 It made me smile unconsciously. A really nicely put together piece and it carries a lot of emotion, really captures the looking-back-longing of the Narnians in the long winter.
Lil: Swanny, I'm tagging this as you upon Tenny's Suggestion that Flip Montgomery is a character of yours.
Wow, I like! 😀
It's a very nice poem, always narnian! I like it.
I just posted a poem under "Fan Creations: Poetry." It's called "A Marsh-wiggle Lullaby." 🙂
I was wanting to share it this summer, but before I could, the website disappeared into thin air.... Now that the new version of the website is coming together, I figured I ought to get around to posting it here, so here it is! Yay!
They might not need me but; they might.
I'll let my Head be just in sight;
A smile as small as mine might be
Precisely their necessity.

This is a poem I wrote earlier this year; it's a poem about rain from Puddleglum's perspective. If you'd like to use this poem anywhere, please ask my permission first. Thanks! 🙂
"It's Going to Rain"
Did you hear the sound of distant thunder?
It's going to rain, I souldn't wonder.
And when it does, just wait and see,
All of these things will happen to me -
My wigwam will get wet inside,
My tinder box will never dry,
My eel stew will surely drown,
My fishing gear will be knocked down.
The water will rise,
My land will flood,
What's already a marsh
Will just be MORE mud!
But these things must be, I suppose,
The "whys" of the matter, nobody knows.
I'll take it as it comes; I'll not complain.
Why should I bother with a thing such as rain?
That was lovely. Not only was it so perfectly Puddleglummish, but there was a nice rhythm to the writing I enjoyed. 😀
Thank you Ariel 🙂
