Was looking at a list of names. Three shared the same last name. One was a man, another was his wife, and the other was his mom. I studied them for a second and wondered, "Is his mum's name Helen?" (complete with British accent). Turned out that's his wife... but his mom's name is Phyllis. MLIN

Edit: Saw LWW featured in an ad on YouTube! ๐Ÿ˜€ MLIN

One day I was looking at a map (of earth, not Narnia) and the I noticed that there was a Caspian Sea. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜€ I looked around some more, and then I saw that the capital of Uzbekistan is Tashkent! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Hmmmm....... yes, most assuredly; MLIN.

Thank you, Hobbit!

@ Narniac: Tashkent! Wow...I now know something I didn't know before! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

You don't want to know how many times I've misread "Asian" as "Aslan". MLIN

@ Hobbit;
I know just what you mean........
A lot of people on other Narnia websites (including me) have that Aslan/asian problem too. ๐Ÿ™‚

It seems kind of weird that two things that sound as if they were in Narnia are that close to each other; I suppose that is the sort of thing a Narnian would notice. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wikipedia says that 'Tashkent' means 'City of Stone'; sounds sort of like Tashbaan, even though in Narnia it was obvious that 'Tash' was referring to the god, probably not stone.But anyway,'Tashkent' really does sound like the name of some city in Calormen.

I was actually beginning to write an essay about Tashkent and Tashbaan ๐Ÿ˜ณ , but then I remembered that this isn't really the most convenient place for an essay about large cities. ๐Ÿ™‚ MLIN

Thank you, Hobbit!

My siblings were watching Pride and Prejudice and I kept thinking I was hearing Narnian names... MLIN

We have people over for Thanksgiving and they love Narnia, and my brother made a LEGO centaur!

@ Hobbit;
I haven't read Pride and Prejudice or seen the movie before, but I hear it is really good.

One end of my bedroom wall is covered in Narnia maps. I have a large map of Narnia that I got for my birthday that I need to hang up, after I rearrange my other maps so it will fit! I have an affinity for Narnia maps in particular, one thing among a bunch of other Narnia related things systematically strewn around my room. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Do you like maps of Narnia, Hobbit? ๐Ÿ˜› MLIN

Thank you, Hobbit!

@narniac: On the other hand, "Tash" means "stone". The suffix "-baan" may have a meaning similar to "dwelling place" or the like. So really... "Tashbaan" may be pretty close to "Tashkent".

Anyway, there's also a place in Egypt that's called Avaris. I think there's also a Bern in... Scotland? MLIN

@ Narniac: Yes, I love Narnia maps! Before I ever actually saw any, I tried to make my own using different-colored blankets add spreading them on the floor. Obviously this was quite a while ago, and I got it all mixed up. ๐Ÿ™„ I don't have any Narnia map posters in my room, though, which is sad.
@ Ariel: "Avaris"?? Wow! Didn't know that one either!

Whenever anyone asks me where I'd rather be right now, I always answer, "Narnia!" And I defend the theory that Narnia really did exist to the point that I'm sure some of my friends think I'm actually insane. MLIN

@ Hobbit; I think that a lot of our extended family thinks that my family is a bit loopy sometimes, for various reasons; being a Narniac is probably one of those reasons, along with for some reason, my sister is obsessed with economics. I collide worlds with her pretty regularly, because she wants me to learn economics, and I want her to read Narnia. ๐Ÿ˜† MLIN

@ Ariel; I was reading up on Avaris and Bern, and it said that Avaris was the capital of Egypt when the Hyksos-or-whatever-their-name-is were in charge, or something like that. I think there is a Bern in Scotland, but I couldn't find anything on that Bern. There is a Bern in Switzerland. Apparently whoever-it-was-that-founded-it-or-something-like-that said that he would name it after whichever animal that he saw first. That ended up as a bear, thus getting the name of Bern, along with the bear being their heraldic symbol. So, maybe that could mean that C. S. Lewis named Lord Bern 'Lord Bern' because of 'Bern' the city? In that case, Bernstead would actually be 'Bearstead'; I wonder how Germans would read VDT if Bern is bear in German? Would that mean that they would have Lord Bear instead of Bern? ๐Ÿ˜•

Whoa, I think that was actually turning into an essay! Perhaps I'll save the topic and write an article on that someday. ๐Ÿ˜› MLIN

Thank you, Hobbit!

@narniac: not a bad idea, actually. ๐Ÿ™‚

A bit of the Big Hero 6 soundtrack sounds very similar to Narnia's.... MLIN

@ Narniac: Wow, how did I not know that already???

Now I feel like having a Narnia movie marathon or something to celebrate C.S. Lewis' birthday. ๐Ÿ™„ MLIN

@ Hobbit; I wouldn't mind doing that myself. ๐Ÿ˜€ The closest I've ever gotten to having a Narnia movie marathon was when I watched LWW and PC on the same day.
Yesterday, we put up our Christmas tree, and my parents gave me Narnia ornaments based on some of the movie characters!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ I think that works for celebrating C.S.Lewis' birthday, even if it was a day early. MLIN

Thank you, Hobbit!

@ Narniac: Yeah, I've watched parts of all 3 movies on the same day, but never all 3 movies the whole way through. ๐Ÿ˜› And ooh, I want Narnia ornaments!

Speaking of Christmas trees, we were discussing where we wanted to put ours this year. I suggested taking out the back of our wardrobe and putting the tree behind it so you'd have to go through the wardrobe to get to it. Nobody really thought that was a good idea although they all thought it sounded fun. ๐Ÿ˜› MLIN
