Soft
Sometimes I fell a dullness,
Creeping over me into my soul.
Lord, restore me to my fullness
of use to You and to Your fold.
Oh, God, please, make me Your vessel.
Oh, God, I’m just Your tool.
So let my heart stay soft,
Let Your Word sink in,
Speak to me quite oft,
Give me quiet within the din.
Sometimes the world calls my name,
And I just don’t know what I will say.
Tempting me with fleeting fame,
Jesus, help me to respond, “Nay!”
Oh, God, please, make me Your vessel.
Oh, God, I’m just Your tool.
So let my heart stay soft,
Let Your Word sink in,
Speak to me quite oft,
Give me quiet within the din.
All my works are just filthy rags.
All my confidence is counted loss.
God, help me not behind to lag.
Help me preach the triumph of the cross!
Oh, God, please, make me Your vessel.
Oh, God, I’m just Your tool.
So let my heart stay soft,
Let Your Word sink in,
Speak to me quite oft,
Give me quiet within the din.
Let my heart stay soft.
