Once a daughter of Eve. Now a daughter of the Second Adam.
I hear renegadeoftheshire would like some baking recipes.
Here is a recipe that is in a cookbook that some friends and I put together when I was a young elf:
Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies
1 C. shortening
2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1-1/2 C. applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda
4 C. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
3 C. oatmeal
2 C. raisins (optional)
1 C. nuts (optional)
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs & mix thoroughly. In a measuring cup or separate bowl mix applesauce & soda. Then pour applesauce/ soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt into the creamed batter and beat well. Add flour gradually until mixed well. Add oatmeal, raisins and nuts stirring until mixed. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350* for about 13-15 minutes.
(Note that the ingredient list doesn't actually say how much nutmeg to use. However, only a little nutmeg is generally needed in a recipe.)
Merry Christmas!
For daughterofeve3:
Lucy has always been my favorite Narnia character, too. Here is a little poem I wrote:
Lucy
Lighting up with her enjoyment of life;
Understanding Narnia and Aslan intuitively;
Caring for others and shouldering her responsibilities;
Young at heart, even when a grown Daughter of Eve.
Here are some nature pictures for our happy giraffe! Enjoy 😀
