Noted.
Still not sold on it yet, but I finally saw the second trailer. That looked good. And a secular reviewer gave it a 8 or 9 (but then he gave Days of Future Past a 10 too...)
Okay, so I'm back from Ant Man. Annnnd, I actually really liked it, which is saying something. The characters are interesting and I loved how the suit worked. The ants too, they were cool and, dare I say, cute? I loved those little guys, haha. π
It wasn't all explosions and it didn't suffer because of it - I think it made it better. The characters are well realized and likeable and the relationships the fathers, Hank and Scott, have with their daughters is also a highlight. The stakes aren't as high, but it still has the ability to have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next.
*Couple spoilers*

@Berry: I was hoping for the same thing but was thinking it wouldn't work considering how long ago it happened and where it happened. I was very happy when Scott made it out, though, if only for his daughter.
Post credit scene! Cap and Falcon found Bucky!! There wasn't much to it but apparently they don't want Stark to know about it, or something.
If there's anything specific anyone would like to know, I'll make another post. π
*reads through the Ant-Man stuff only to--* Squee!! Cap and Falcon and Bucky!!!
Ahem. Momentary tangent. Don't mind me.... π
@Elanor: Okay, so I'm going to deviate from my norm and say that you don't have to give me outright (or at least big) spoilers, but I would love, love, love a more detailed rundown of the pros and cons to the movie. Even if you just PM it to me.
@Berry: btw, I don't regret reading your spoiler bit. π
*hides from Ant-Man spoilers* I don't think I'll be seeing it until it comes out on DVD, which might be a while. π
On the other hand, though, I started watching Daredevil. I don't know if I'm going to follow it through, since it's pretty violent. I love the concept, though, and the production quality is pretty good.
@Shield: Yeah, I saw the Daredevil pilot and thought, "Well, I'm curious as to what happens next, but... it's pretty dark."
Edit: Was Skyping a friend last night who has seen half of Ant-Man (the theater had a power-out partway through). She said that so far, it was really good and that she liked what they were doing with the characters and her only complaint was that the swearing seems to be more prevalent (something about it showing up more in casual conversation and not just in action sequences in which they're half-drowned-out by music or explosions). And she said that her boyfriend went to see it and he likes it too.
So... I might actually go see it. If I end up waiting for the dvd, that's cool, but I want to see this before Avengers 2.

Elanor, I will take all the spoilers you can give me. I don't actually plan to see it. (I don't know why I just don't feel enthused about it. >.< Although Evangeline Lilly looked AWESOME in the trailer.)
Ariel, if the after scene clip is still up online maybe I can send it to you and anyone interested. Bucky's puppy face mouthing "Help me.." The feels!
*reads through Lil's post only to --* BUCKY PUPPY FACE?! WHAAAAAAT?! O_O
I don't blame you for not feeling enthused. I was in your shoes as of a week ago.
Oh, I guess update: I"m gonna see it on Sunday. I found a friend interested in watching it.
(PS @Berry: Someone (I think the director?) hinted that she might not be gone for good.)
Wait waitβBUCKY!?!??!!?!?
*is trying to resist the urge to look it up* Just one more day, Ariel, just one more day. You can wait just one more day to see it.
So I was re-watching AoS and I found a new favorite quote.
Mack: It's Gordon, right?
Gordon: And you are?
Mack: I'm the guy who kills Gordon.
I just died of laughter seeing Mack say that with a straight face!!
*snerks* Yes, I did like that moment too.
Wait waitβBUCKY!?!??!!?!?
Yep. Bucky and Cap and Falcon.
Well, I won't be able to give all my thoughts, but I might as well get some of them said now. π
I like Ant Man, though I think I still prefer Cap 2. I was pleased to see how much character there was (except with the villain...).
Scott. I think he's relatable and likeable. His struggle feels very real. His drive to go straight and be a part of Cassie's life is admirable and his struggle against Maggie and Baxton was what one would expect from a guy in his situation. I think it may have perhaps been a stretch making him as selfless as he was (doing that Ant Man thing for an old dude he just met and all), but hey, I'm not going to fault him for that, especially when he explained to Hope that he's expendable and that Hank would rather lose this fight than lose her. He may be a much younger father, but he gets it.
Hank. Not a word on his being a (more-or-less) pacifist (you know, aside from the two great punches he throws π ), but his rehabilitation M-O is definitely still intact. I liked seeing as much as him as they gave us. I like him almost as much as I like Scott. He's got his own great qualities and his own mistakes to work through.
Hope. I'm not her biggest fan, but she's not boring like Jane and has her own character development. Not a whack-load, but she doesn't need it. (And man, is she ever a beast! π ) Also, nobody told me she got the Wasp suit at the end! Guess I'll be seeing more of Evangeline Lilly in the future (hopefully with a haircut I like better (even though a nod at Janet's comic hair is nice for the comic crowd)).
Scott's con pals. Even they had a bit of personality (moreso Luis, but anyway), which was nice to see in tertiary characters. I think they're mostly there for the comic relief (which worked; I especially liked the backing up part outside of Cassie's house), which may or may not change my mind about them later on.
Darren Cross. *sigh* Yet another run-of-the-mill Marvel villain (and apparently similar in situation to Obadiah Stane in Iron Man 1, according to a reviewer). I also don't really see him as being a science-geek-type of guy, but then maybe that's because I saw him as a cop in another movie.
Falcon. I think I was grinning for most of that fight.... Poor Sam. Don't blame him for not wanting Cap to know. And then him trying to find Scott at the end! I'm gonna have to pay closer attention next time 'cause Luis' storytelling didn't quite make it through to me. (And then him mentioning Scott to Cap in the post-credit stinger... makes me wonder how that'll pan out.) Oh, and Scott feeling all proud for having gone up against an Avenger and not died. π
Antony. I felt no particularly sympathy when he got shot. Until the wing fell and Scott said, "You're going to regret that." Then I kinda felt obligated to feel a little sad because Scott was.
The ants. I don't blame Scott for being grossed out at first. (I really don't like the feeling of them crawling up my legs myself, so....) But it was cool how they used multiple kinds of ants to do different things.
The climax. My friend noticed it more than I did, but I agree: it ended too soon. Not quite enough tension, even if the sequences were cool.
The humour. Wow, there's a lot of it. I think I liked most of it, but there were a couple points in which I felt that it was out of place. Like Thomas the Tank Engine going big. Or seeing the damage on the train set three times (I was happy with the one in the trailer!). And I have mixed feelings on Scott totally ruining the moment for Hank and Hope. π
The belt. Convenient, if you ask me... but then why mess with the belt if he could have just slammed it into himself to grow big? Or does it not work that way? But then why wouldn't it work that way if it would have worked on Yellowjacket?
Peggy Carter. I totally didn't expect to see her at all, but I was cool with it. Also with the references to Howard and Tony Stark.
Hydra. Is it just me, or did they feel kinda shoehorned in there?
Avengers. I loved it when Scott suggested calling in the Avengers (you're welcome, How It Should Have Ended π ).
Bucky. "It would have been easier a week ago." π― What would have been easier? What happened in a span of a week? I want to know!! Civil War had better explain! (Also, does this scene come before or after, chronologically, Luis' story about Sam trying to track down Scott? hmm)
And that's all I can remember for now. I'm going to bed. Been too tired at work the past couple days... π
An Man was Ammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmazing!!!
wait Peggy Carter was in the movie?
