Just watched Ant Man again. It's still my favourite of the Marvel films (sorry Cap 2). 🙂
@Shield: I was expecting more tension too and a bigger outcome than what we got, but overall I think it was decent and I'm hoping it will lead up to a bigger conflict for the second half.
*Spoilers for Agents of Shield so turn back now if you do not want details and stuff*
I loved Mack in the role of director.
New guy, Joey, liked him too. Melting the bullets when he ran to block them from Daisy was a nice moment. I also liked when he tells Lincoln, Daisy, and May that he's scared and Daisy says something along the lines of, "We all are." And May says, "I'm not." Typical May. 😀
Lincoln is rather bland and I hope something happens within the second half to develop him more - because, at this point, I don't care about him.
Bobbi and Hunter are also awesome. I loved when Hunter waved to see which ones they were.
Ever since I saw the episode of Jemma and Will I thought there was something up with him. That hypothesis was wrong in part, but I knew when they reached the planet it would not actually be Will and, yes, I feel bad for not trusting him earlier. Anyway, after It revealed its true self to Fitz, everything took off and the tension became what I was hoping it would be all along.
I did not like how Ward died. *sigh* I've read in places that Coulson will have his regrets - whether they be for killing him or allowing It into the world, we'll have to find out.
As much as I hate to say this, I wish It did not take over Ward but either Fitz or Coulson. *ducks for cover* ...I know Fitz is my favourite character and I was worrying for him prior to see this ep - he's one of the main reasons, if not the reason, I've become invested in the show - but watching the episode play out... I thought it would be higher stakes and tension and emotion if it was one of them and not Ward. Ward was the safe route, I think. *gets fic idea* Oh great.
Yes, I forgot to say how much I liked director!Mack. Dude rocked it, considering what all was piled on him of a sudden....
*snickers* Yeah, that was good.
Ah, Hunter. Never ceases to amuse.
😮 😮 😮 You were willing to go with Fitz?! I sooooooooo would not have been okay with that!
Ward might have been the safe route, but if you think about it, it's less sticky than going with Fitz or Coulson. Ward was Hydra, so It doesn't have to work as hard to get to Hydra nor will Hydra have difficulty accepting it. And we've already had the whole "he's our friend but he's a monster" fight with Lashdrew, so doing it again with Coulson or Fitz could be redundant (even though, if It had taken one of their bodies, the host would be dead)....
*cough* yes *cough* But that's me wishing in theory after Fitz is all safe and sound - definitely would have hit hard if it actually happened and I'd entertain the thought of leaving the show. 😛 🙄 But anyway, I've been thinking about the possibility a great deal and it could have worked. But that's not what happened.
As for being dead... One host of Hive, as it's been guessed the inhuman is, was resuscitated as I've been told or read some where. If that is the case then I'm sure we haven't seen the last of alive!Ward.
Hahahahaha!
Hmm... I seem to remember Madame Hydra (I think it was her, anyway) somehow got the exterior parts of the Hive cut off (four of its tentacle-things sat on top of her head), but it's unsure whether she's herself again or if her body is still just a host. That's the most I've seen in favour of that. But at any rate, Marvel's notorious at this point for magically bringing people back.
I was completely expecting Fitz to die in the MSF, honestly. Or at least for him to be hurt or something - not what /actually/ happened.
I'm also really surprised (and mostly disappointed) that they killed off Ros AND Banks in the same episode (and not even a finale or anything).
I actually didn't care about Rosalind, but I did feel bad when Banks died....
@Lil: Ditto on Peggy Carter, Siri, and "How's your face?" 😀
@Shield: what killed the mid-season finale of AoS was Coulson. Literally. The way he killed Ward was what went wrong.
It-using-host-bodies was one of six or seven theories I had. 😀 I also read some fan theories regarding "It", so I'm curious to see if said fans are right. In any case, I'm pretty sure it's going to boil down to It vs Lash.
Daisy and Lincoln have been a thing since Afterlife, more or less. Just not necessarily as obvious as SkyeWard, FitzSimmons, BirdHunter, Kara/Ward, RosaPhil (now that is the one I require an explanation for!), or even Melindrew.
I like Daisy and Lincoln. 🙂
I like Daisy and Lincoln too, I just thought it kinda came out of nowhere - especially since they haven't been teasing it or anything this season.
Haha, I guess. He was on the run for most of it and they do well as just friends too.
There was that kiss in one of the first eps, right? I guess the writers assumed that was enough to "establish" their relationship.
Ariel's right, they do great as friends, but I was thinking actually Season 2, because he was helping her control her powers.
Kinda-sorta on this topic, I just re-watched Avengers... and realized that I've completely forgotten about Coulson's cellist girlfriend. I wonder if we'll ever get back to her eventually or not. I'm not counting on it (especially since she doesn't know he's alive), but with Rosalind out of the picture... maybe?
Didn't they have an episode in AoS with the Cellist?
Yup. It was back in season 1, and from what I can remember I think they tied up the loose ends pretty well.
@Lil: Yeah, they did. She had a stalker who had some sort of electrical powers (I just remember things going dark as he approached). Coulson and the team saved her. She got dazed at one point when she fell, and he said something to her, then disappeared, so when she got up and said that she'd heard Coulson, the rest of the team covered for him by saying that she'd been imagining things. *shrugs* All this stuff with Rosalind just made me wonder if he thinks about the cellist anymore or not.
