I like Riley more too. 😀 Those are such great movies. But back to Marvel...I love what Darcy brings to the movie. Loki sometimes outshines Thor, and Darcy sometimes outshines Jane. Jane and Darcy remind me a bit of of...Jane and Lizzie from Pride and Prejudice. Connect between the names somehow? 😆

Loki outshines Thor a lot, probably because he's the more complex and wounded character. And Darcy always outshines Jane. (*finds Jane incredibly boring as a character*)

Yeah, I'm with you. I like Thor better because I like good guys. But I did really enjoy Loki. He's a very enjoyable antagonist. He has some complex struggles. And yeah, Jane is boring. Sorry Jane! Thor, you picked a boring girlfriend. 😛

I'm obliged to like Thor simply because he's the good guy, but I also like Loki in the same way (though not to the same degree) I like Rumplestiltskin and Regina in Once Upon a Time. He's just really fleshed-out with a solid character.
Yep. A couple months ago, I was talking to a kid about how I couldn't figure out what exactly I didn't like about Jane. She replied, "She doesn't do anything." And I went, ":O you're so right!" 😆

Yes, I enjoyed the first Thor movie because of Thor and Loki's character development and it was a movie that relied on story, not action. But I thought Thor's character was fairly stereotypical.

😆 Yup, that's why!

I did like the character focus of Thor 1. 🙂

She's a smart one, that kid. She figured out the answer when I was still going, "so what is it about her that I don't like...?"

I did too, so I was really excited for Thor 2. I wouldn't say I was really disappointed, it was a good movie, but it was totally more action focused that the first one. The first one was a nice refresher from all the typical violence in most blockbuster movies. I still have to get my mom to watch the first one. I think she'll like it. She likes story-heavy movies. (She also loves history, so I got her to watch CA:The First Avenger, and she actually liked it.)

I think I lean in favour of Thor 1. Better story, better villain, better character development.... The bonuses of Thor 2, though, were more Sif, a more mature Thor, and an even more complex Loki. 🙂 Still not a great fan of Thor in general though, heh-heh.
*sometimes wonders exactly how historical Cap 1 gets*

On a different note, I have a wondering about Avengers 3. I don't remember if that article said anything about what A3 was about or what villain, etc, but... based on a (really lame) mobile Avengers game, there seems to be a connection between the Collector (aka weird dude in Thor post-credit scene) and a villain called Kang the Conqueror. I wonder this because the subtitle for Avengers 3 is Infinity War - involving, I assume, the Infinity Stones. Kang is a time traveling villain with multiple timelines, therefore I wonder if maybe the "infinity" of "Infinity War" has anything to do with him. Now, I have not looked anything up on the characters or the subtitle or even other people speculations, so this is just a guess based entirely upon what I see in a particular game. 😉

Hahahahaha, great find, Ela! Yup, that points to exactly what Ariel was complaining about. 😛

Also, I found some interesting stuff about Cap's shield. So Andi Serkis is probably playing Ulysses Claw (seen for a moment in the trailer) who is the antagonist to Black Panther. Black Panther in turn is from Wacanda, which is the same area that you can get vibranium. Vibranium what Cap's shield is made from. Speculation is that Ultron travels to Wacanda (in Africa -- hence filming in South Africa) to collect vibranium to make the armor of his final form. Being made of vibranium would then allow him to be able to smash Captain's unbreakable shield. This is all speculation, but I found it to be a fairly interesting theory.

Bwahahahahahahahahaha! That. Was. Well-Put! "You're ruining my childhood!!"

*hedges on that theory* I dunno.... I mean, yeah, I get the stuff with vibranium and Wakanda and and Claw (though I thought he was an Ant-Man villain... whatever), but... I'm not so sure about the vibranium-on-vibranium thing. *grumbles that Cap's shield is supposed to be a vibranium-adamantium alloy (and that, to my knowledge, Ultron's "final" armour is adamantium?)* hmm.... Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

"Someone maketh him stop!" "Think of the children!"

Yeah, it's just a speculation. Guess we'll have to see the movie to find out for sure! 🙂

So... this isn't supposed to be out yet, but thanks to Idris Elba (aka Heimdall) slipping in an interview, it would seem that Heimdall and Loki will have appearances in Avengers 2. This is just a guess, but maybe one or both of them are involved in sending Thor back to Earth?
(Oh, and I also found out that Ragnarok (Thor's cyborg/clone that will appear in Thor 3) is a creation of Tony Stark (in the comics, used to replace Thor when he disappears from Earth for a long while).)

Wow... I can't believe I've never seen this thread before! I've never seen any Marvel movies, but I want to. 🙂 The closest thing I've seen is The Ultimate Spider-Man. 😛

Hi Berry! I haven't ever seen any of the Spider-Man movies. The first Marvel movie I watched was Captain America: The First Avenger and it's still my favorite. 🙂
