I just can't see him as a baddie, but I'm sure he could pull it off. I'm gonna see him in the movie and just be like, "Whoa, where'd the hobbit come from? Oh, wait not hobbit. Fine, how did John Watson end up in here?!" 😆
Maybe he'll be Captain Britain? 😛 Though, really, I have no idea who he could be. Imagine if his character and Doctor Strange were ever in the same movie...

Sharon Carter, Ant-Man, and Crossbones (aka the dude that somehow managed to not die in Cap 2) have been officially added to the Civil War roster.
Which makes me think of the possibility of Martin Freeman being an interrogator that you mentioned, Elanor, since Sharon Carter is now CIA.
Also, the Narnia screenwriters are increasing their resumes: they wrote Civil War and will write Avengers 3.

Sharon Carter is aka Cap's "nurse neighbour lady" aka the epic lady agent who first pulled a gun (on Crossbones/Rumlow) before Project Insight was launched.
As for Rumlow... I haven't the slightest as to how he survived. I mean, yeah, he looked to be in pretty bad shape after all that, but still. That helicarrier didn't really allow for a whole lot of error.
Sooooooooooooooo I saw the first season of Agents of Shield and LOVED IT! I know what you mean, Ariel, but I was watching it with my older sister so all is well. I NEED SEASON TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!
