For Christmas I was treated to a new graphic novel, Mythmakers, the story of the friendship between C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. So far it has been a fun, informative read with extra-biographical commentary supplied by a conversation between (not surprisingly!) a lion and a wizard. I got to hear a lecture by the author/artist, John Hendrix, as part of a series from the Wade Center at Wheaton College, which specializes in research on works by C.S. Lewis and six other authors who were either significant influences on him or in his circles. Here is a link at which you can watch the presentation by Mr. Hendrix< https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8j6WKP7HBo > -- This entertaining talk is a fascinating journey into the creative process, as well as a thumbnail of his research on Lewis' and Tolkien's friendship.
Thanks for sharing, Benisse. Sounds great!!
Once a daughter of Eve. Now a daughter of the Second Adam.
I have added it to my to-read list, will let you know what I think when I get my hands on it. 🙂
I just finished Mythmakers; what a beautiful, poignant, and bittersweet read... Of course some scenes were supposes, but I feel they were thoughtfully done, drawing on research.
