What kind of animal friends do you/your family have, if any? Do you have any favorite stories of memories with them? Are you able/comfortable with sharing photos of their cuteness?

Ooh! Great topic. I don't have any pets myself, but my parents have two mini dachshund boys - Aubrey (black and tan) and Blaise (chocolate dapple).

I spent the last 6 weeks (our summer here) with my family and loved being around them and having Blaisey sit on my lap while we watched TV. They are both fairly new to the family as the other 3 doggos they'd had for the last 10+ years passed away within a short space of time (inevitable when they're all a similar age). I'll definitely share some pictures when I get a chance to find good ones. They're both a bit camera shy. The other day I was trying to get a picture of Blaise all cute asleep in his basket and he woke as soon as I focused the camera phone on him. I suspect he can smell it. 😆

Once a daughter of Eve. Now a daughter of the Second Adam.

I had a dog once but animals and my present life don't get along well.

He does all things well.

My furry friend is a cat... a very sweet gray tabby named Lilah. I should find some pictures of her to share soon. ^_^

Lilah and I will be moving soon with my older sis! I've heard that kitties can be nervous and moody sometimes when settling into a new home, and that extra treats might help her think of it as a good place faster. I'm also thinking it may be time for a new cat-tree of some sort...

It has been a long time since I've been in the forum... looks like I've been missing out on a fun conversation! My family had a dog when I was growing up. I've kind of been missing having a dog around lately, but I can't take care of one by myself (because I have a disability that prevents me from taking care of myself without help, so I couldn't possibly take care of myself plus a pet), so, I'm just enjoying when I get to interact with friends' and neighbors' pets. 🙂

Our dog's favorite thing to play with used to be bouncy balls. Whenever he found one, he would carry it over to our stairs and drop it down, and he would watch it bounce all the way to the bottom, and then he'd run down after it. He would catch it and bring it up to the top of the stairs again, and do the same thing over and over again. It was really fun how excited he got about it. 🙂

@the-happy-islander That sounds like an adorable way for your dog to entertain himself! What kind of dog was he?

Yeah, it was pretty adorable! 🙂 He wasn't a specific breed of dog. He was a medium-size white and light brown dog with a curly tail and a snout that looked just a little bit shorter than similar-looking dogs usually had.
