No, nothing turned green. I was kinda waiting for it, but everything remained blue. I looked up why clouds turn green during a tornado and got something about particles and light and red, green, and blue wavelengths. What I got was that, as tornadoes tend to happen later in the day, the sun is starting to set, which casts a reddish tinge. Put that with the usual blue we see and very all clouds, the water in the clouds do their absorbing/reflecting of colour, this appearing green. Something like that.
So yesterday was a bit educational. 😛

Hahaha, this is the Jan/Feb chat thread... and it's October. 😛

Anyway.

I was curious. What are everybody's favourite things about autumn?
I, for one, love the excess of apple and pumpkin products, edible or not. I also dig the possibility of early snow. Aaaaaaand I had other things to bring up, but now they're escaping me.

I love the weather and all that happens to the outdoors (though I'm really missing that this year since I'm not really able to see it all happen). My favorite time of the year is very early autumn when the trees are just starting to change and there are still greens among the browns and reds and oranges and yellows, and the sky is still usually that particular shade of pale blue, and it's warm when you're in the sun but cool (even cold) in the shade. I love going hiking (the more rock climbing that can be included in the hike the better) at that time of year.
But I also am a huge fan of all the apples you can get about now.

.......sheesh, but this is making me miss the Midwest!!

Did I know you were an outdoorsy person...? I'm not much of one myself, though I was as a child and do enjoy hikes when they happen on trips and stuff. Rock climbing as in just playing around or with ropes and the works?

I don't know if you knew or not. 😛
Not actual for-real rock climbing (I wish, though!), more of going here:

and goofing off among the rocks and going down less-than-100%-safe trails that probably aren't actually trails.

Ooh, yeah! Garden of the gods is one of the coolest places to hike in the Autumn!

@hobbit: Ooh, that looks like fun! (And that's a pretty picture to boot. 😀 ) I've done a small amount of that sort of thing, but I'm not at all adventurous when it comes to heights and not feeling secure. Anyway. Especially with the picture you provided, I can really see how you'd enjoy the hiking and rock-climbing in the autumn!

@alex: "garden of the gods"? What is it?

It's the place in the picture Hobbit posted. We used to go there every once and a while. It's awesome!

My top favorite thing about autumn is the cool weather, and being able to wear scarves. 😀 I also like celebrating Thanksgiving (American style) and hiking during later October and early November. Ooh, and apple cider is great too!

Ah, you're a scarf fellow?
Apple cider. *melts* I could drink that all day.

Yes, absolutely. I prefer solid colors, if only because then I don't have to worry about matching plaid with plaid, etc. But I'll wear multicolored scarves as well. 🙂
I know, right? But sadly, I haven't seen cider here in Korea...yet. Still looking, though. 😕

@Alex: Ah, the joys of trying to match a multi-coloured anything with something else. 🙂 Hmm, I wonder where one might find cider in South Korea.... At any rate, you can enjoy their ice cream, right? 😉

@Tenny: how about you? What do you like best about autumn?
