Some of my favorite things about fall are the changing and falling of the leaves --it makes everything looks so beautiful!-- and the wearing of boots and hoodies!
Oh my goodness, Hobbit and Alex, I've been to Garden of the gods, a couple times! My grandparents live near it, so when we were younger we would visit there sometimes when we came to see them. I saw that picture you posted and was like "is that .....?" and then I saw you said what it was. 😀
@Shi: What are some of the things you like to do in the fall? Besides wear boots and hoodies? 😛
@Ariel: Have bonfires & drink warm drinks (like cocoa, cappuccino, or apple cider)! And watch LOTR (we are watching it now, so that's why I said that 😆 . It's not necessarily a fall thing, but it is a lovely time to do it; we just watch it about twice a year).
Around this time of year we are still thinking summer. People in my area tend to jump straight from July 4 to December 25th. Fall pretty much doesn't exist.
I like to travel North and look at beautiful leaves. They change colors up there. 🙂 I also like going outside when it's cooler. And I like looking at pumpkins and eating fallish foods. 🙂
@Shi: Sounds good. 😀
@Tenny: Mm, yeah, unless you go too far north and the leaves don't have a chance to change colour before the snow comes. 😛
@Shi: That's so cool! Isn't it a great place? I used to go there in cloaks and tunics and boots and weapons and make people wonder about my sanity. 😉
@alex: *snork* That's fabulous.
There are few things in life as epic and simultaneously as geeky as watching your brother run up to the edge of a cliff and shouting out to him, "What do your elf-eyes see?", to which he replies, " The Uruks turn north-east!...They're taking the hobbits to Isengard!!!!"...which may or may not be something we've done there...more than once... *ahem*
@Tenny: That's so sad, I love Fall! 🙁
@Alex and Hobbit: That's epic! It IS a beautiful place! And so neat! Also, I don't know if this is close in relation to Garden of the gods, but we used to visit both when up that way; have you ever been to Cave-In Rock?
Oh, yes!!!!!!! And the last time we went Alex and I (and our younger brother) brought the cello and the viola and the violin there and played pirate music and other stuff in the cave while we were sitting on those ledges along the side.
You know that little side cave off to the right when you're at the back of the main part of the cave? When you go into the side cave, if you look to the right (as if you were coming back to the main entrance but you're inside the little side-cavern) there is a little spot that you can climb up to and sit down, and if you're wearing dark clothes you completely disappear.
Is anyone else looking forward to Christmas already?
roflol! I'd love to actually see that.
Wow, y'all seem to know how to have a super-good time there. 😀
As for Christmas, yeah. I'm going Operation Christmas Child shopping next weekend and I'm waiting for Tuesday to pop my Christmas CDs into my car. 🙂 And I already have a head start on presents.
The boys have already broken out the Christmas CDs here, about half a month earlier than usual and one month before they're "supposed to" (usually we set Thanksgiving as our start-of-Christmastime date).
I broke mine out today. I didn't wanna wait no more. 😀
@Hobbit: That sounds epic! I am not certain which part of the cave you're referring to. I haven't been there for several years! 🙂
No, I can't break out Christmas music yet. Must wait till after Thanksgiving! I love Christmas and I don't wanna ruin the wonderful-ness of it by doing it too early! But I know everyone is not the same as me. 🙂
@Shi: Understandable on both counts. Normally, I try to wait it out a bit, but my musical cravings got the better of me. 😛
