Well, it's not always an age thing. I've known kids who've been sick longer than they should have. Granted, I don't think any of them have tried to hack up a lung for as long, but....
I'm thankful I have a strong immune system that only breaks down twice a year at the most.

i literally get sick around a dozen times a year. i once had pneumonia twice in one year and i generally get it every. single. winter. :sobsob: i have no immune system.

Getting sick can also be really stressful. Especially when one has a busy schedule.
