I watched a German "mountain-climbing" adventure movie which is set in a pre-WWII Swiss Alps and is based on a true story. I can find no rating available for it, so it would be safer to omit the title (content includes violence (due to natural disaster), peril, and some cursing). The portrayal of nature, particularly the mountain being climbed, was breathtaking but also as terrifying as one would expect : snowstorms, ice, slips, falls, freezing, dying, everything that can go wrong when that high up happens on that mountain. Not the typical film I'd watch, but I enjoyed it immensely even if it was frustrating to see the characters as they were. Annnd... the ending was hard to swallow. Why?! 🙁
Ai! That does sound perilous! I mean, I knew mountain-climbing is a tricky thing, but your description makes it sound uber-scary!
Meanwhile, I re-watched a WWII POW movie that I do enjoy, but it's rated R for good reason.
We restarted Cranford tonight. 😀
Working through Bleak House the past couple of nights (not the first time 🙂 )
@Ariel: It was! There were a few times I'm sure my heart-rate went up. That height! *faints*
Watching The Great Escape and I'm about halfway through. Pretty long, running at approximately three hours but very good. Yes, very good.
I think I saw that movie a long, long time ago. Is it the one about the POWs who escape? (Not sure what war it's set in ... WWII I assume.)
The Great Escape is a WWII POW escape from a German camp. The film stars Steve McQueen, Richard Attensborough, James Garner, James Coburn, Donald Plesance, Charles Bronson and a couple others whose names I'm forgetting.
Finished the Great Escape. 🙂
Also watched 101 Dalmatians.
Cartoon or live action?
Cartoon. I haven't watched it in ten years, so it was something to see it again. Not the best animated film but it was entertaining.
We watched the other Pride and Prejudice (the one with Keira Knightly and Matthew McFad-however-you-spell-it) last night, since Daddy was going to be working late (save Cranford for when we were together). If you're gonna watch one, just go to the Jenifer Elhe and Colin Firth one. Much more worth your time. 😉
I got bored with the Keira Knightly one and lurned it off maybe 15 minutes in.
Don't worry; you didn't miss much. 😉
I've seen three of the Pride and Prejudice movies. The longest is definitely my favorite.
Isn't the longest one the one that is closest to the book?
I haven't really been watching anything lately other than The Middle and HttyD.
