The longest one is close to the book. When people say they wish their favorite book was made into a movie they mean that they want their book to be made into the Colin Firth P&P. I think it's technically a miniseries not a movie, but lets face it the way to watch it is to clear out several hours of your life and watch it as a really, really, really long movie.
The Kiera Knightly version isn't without it's virtues though. The music is just amazing as is the cinematography. The "long" P&P obviously spent it's money on top notch British actors and length that allowed it to stay close to the book, the newer version seems to have spent the most on making it look gorgeous, which it is, it's very pretty to look at. It also let me watch P&P with my Mom who has the attention span of a gnat when it comes to following the plots and characters of a movie. She liked it, I doubt she would be able to keep everything straight for the long one.
Watched the new Cinderella and thought it was good. Wasn't expecting to see so many familiar faces: Cate Blanchett, Lily James, Hayley Atwell, Stellan Skarsgard, and Sophie McShera.
Hayley Atwell looks so different blonde. 😀
She does, I honestly didn't recognize her at first! I also thought Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham Carter) and Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) looked familiar - turns out I've seen both in the newest iteration of Great Expectations.
*Edit*
Watched War Horse again. Never gets old for me. 😉
*Edit*
Watched Disney's Peter Pan.
Finished Return to Cranford tonight. 😀
@Jaygee: I think I liked "Return" better. Funny how that happened. 😛 I think my sis is still wearing her "Return to Cranford" set.
Watched some Sue Thomas.
Ooh, which ones, Ariel? 😛
The first three eps from volume 3. "The Newlywed Game" and "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" (in which Sue and Jack go undercover as a married couple to stop a terrorist attack); and... I don't remember what the other one is called... but it's the one in which Tara shoots a guy and then is targeted by said guy's brother.
YES! "Bad Hair Day"! I love those. 😀
That's the one!
I quite enjoy them. Bobby's my favourite. ^.^
I like all of them. 😀 Myles less so, but I like him better than Randy. 😉
Watched Beauty and the Beast (an extended version with the "Human Again" song). Again, another film I haven't seen in a long while and I love it just as much as I remember. *hums the tune*
Also watched Arsenic and Old Lace. It's a dark, hilariously written classic film that stars Cary Grant and Peter Lorre.
We went to see Risen in theaters today. It is PG-13 for a reason, namely scenes of the crucifixion and dead bodies, but it was great!
